teilwal [#2]werent people saying it was the cn teams who didnt scrim them xdddddddddd
people on this site assume things too quickly.
tatertot [#4]"But, Chinese teams helped us out. A few of them excluding FPX. In the end we got less than 10 scrims in and just played rank."
he mentioned how teams in the competition were scared to scrim them and rightly so due to them thinking they'd meet them down the line
ButterflyEffect23 [#6]W FPX
w org with w players lowk they couldve gotten top 3 this tournament with some luck life was supporting GENG
teilwal [#2]werent people saying it was the cn teams who didnt scrim them xdddddddddd
Munchkin already said the other teams have the same issue during the Plat Chat interview. But people just assume it was due to the Gen.G-China controversy
lez [#8]Munchkin already said the other teams have the same issue during the Plat Chat interview. But people just assume it was due to the Gen.G-China controversy
makes sense not scrimming as like anti stratting is actually goated but its a shame how the anti geng china stuff blew up and nothing else
Ullyr [#12]not a surprised FPX was looking different this tourny they got good practice scrimming gen g.
they probs got a ton of scrims as teams under valued them. bit of EDG cope but maybe they just didnt scrim much
zhongZHI [#11]cuz china different client. usualyl cn scrims using vpn with apac
Thats what I'm questioning, there should have been a VPN setup to use the APAC client.
BulkyLettuce [#16]its not bc "every team was scared of GENG" you have no idea how this works
how is it then
zhongZHI [#17]how is it then
timezones are different, south korea runs on a time zone that is around 16 hours ahead of the US which would affect the times both teams would want to scrim at. The whole point of scrims is to try news ideas and get better no one is "scared"

??????
pambisito [#19]??????
thats also exactly why chinese teams were open to scrim them since china is only 1 hour behind south korea!

They were in the same timezone though... we're talking about GenG at Shanghai...
Its not called being "scared" lol. The teams playing in masters obviously didnt want to leak their strats, especially to a team like GENG. The teams in regular seasons also rarely ever scrim against each other. I cant seem to remember the names, but some teams in EMEA exclusively scrim against tier 2 opponents, and may only scrim the big teams in the leagues if they have no chance of facing each other.

are you slow bulky? They were in the same TimeZone lmao. Ofc US teams wont scrim APAC teams if not for LANS lmao. wtf

yet only china got flamed for it. double standards ngl

You seem to be the slow one since many if not all teams dont scrim each other the same week they play each other on stage for an international trophy. You have zero clue what you're talking about

Except for the fact that they do lmao. What you are talking about is completly different. Ofc a Korean team isnt going scrim an NA team while they are in different regions. Thats just common sense. Not only the time difference but the Ping difference would be insane and there would be no point in scrimming. Also when teams go to other regions they scrim teams in those regions. Some teams opt out from scrimming to save strats but some dont. And fyi they do scrim each other the same week they play.

Look how FPX turned out, they scrimmed during the event and lost almost all the games they played. The whole reason for scrims is to try new ideas and get better so if that preparation isn't done before the tournament you turn out like FPX

We werent talking about that tho lmao. I was talking about the fact that you were talking about Timezones and shit lmao. Timezones would be of no effect lmao
zhongZHI [#24]yet only china got flamed for it. double standards ngl
Geng were playing in chinese clients. They can either scrim masters shanghai teams, or the chinese tier 1 or tier 2 teams which are not in Masters Shanghai. The Masters Shanghai teams did not scrim GENG and its more than fair. You cant say the same for the other chinese teams in tier 1 and tier 2 lmao. Its like all the teams come to EMEA for champs and none of the EMEA teams scrim NRG (because they're dogshit).

Scrims are the most effective before big events, not during them. This is because if you have scrims during the same week as an event you cant build upon those ideas and implement them fast enough to show on the big stage which is why those scrims are pointless. I thought they were talking about scrims before the event since thats when scrims actually help teams and actually matter. Its been like this for any esport this is not anything new

Scrims before events occurs Intra region. Unless the team flies to the other region to scrim. its most likely they wont scrim inter region during regular season. Only exceptions are Korean Servers and APAC cause they most likely do scrim as they are all in Asia

thing is the chinese team did scrim them
lez [#14]Thats what I'm questioning, there should have been a VPN setup to use the APAC client.
They did say that they tried using VPN but it kept rebooting their computer, so they're forced to play against teams with the Chinese client. But luckily Drx managed to get the VPN working and scrim with geng
