i mean look at ur flag not to be racist or anything but i dont think americans can eat real chiense food cuz of spice tolerance. i had a work dinner the other day and my 2 white mates oculdnt eat anything cuz it was too spicy. also korean and vietnamese food have origins in china due to history is culture exportation

that’s a huge generalization
do you think all americans are white

i mean its generalised cuz people raised there too regardless of race have low spice tolerance cuz they arent used to it. its just how food is nothing racist

do you know how large and diverse america is
they’re also largely made of immigrants

there’s a whole range of food from spicy indian, thai, korean and chinese food.
america is a weird melting pot country so saying they can’t tolerate spice is wrong lol

i’m japanese american so if you ever come here, we can go eat real chinese food. you just have to hang around the right american people.

the true recipe and whats made in america is probs very different to suit different palettes. someone born and raised in an asian country when they move the us the asian food they eat there is quite different compared to what they used to. think about it like panda express. their food isnt chinese really its chinese with american characteristics when you move from one place to another you adapt ur food (due to different palettes, avaliability of ingredients and variety of answers) thus thats why im saying that what the people in the us are eating might not really be the real thing

bro said panda express lmaooo

that’s not real chinese food here. go to any chinatown in the states and there’s authentic chinese food.

jellyfish, peking duck, char siu, pork congee, black bean noodles spicy dishes from Szechuan etc etc

i mean chinese food theres 8 categories known as the 八大菜 and its very versatile and some ingredients u def cannot find here and be allowed to sell here. example turtle what the us eats is what it views is acceptable showing how chiense cuisine had to adapt to american palletes. the stuff you names is a bit of a niche popular in china yes but i doubt any america can eat actual sichuan food. chinese people struggle with it themselves. in sichuan spice is the main dish when everyelse is just a compliment

has roots is better ngl. they have their own ways on so its not reallyyy chinese but has chinese similarties

#13

yes thats why it doesnt matter if the dish originate in China. Just look at the changed version as their own cuisine and compare.

yea but thats a slippery slope to completely saying that u made it urself. like similar example i have a taiwanese friend obsessed with history and he got infuriated when some koreans said confucious was korean cuz he lived at the same time korea was under cultural influence of china

Awful generalization bro its really just regional its not “white people cant” “americans cant” tolerate spice its “people that dont grow up eating spicy food have a hard time with it when older”

I assure you a vast majority of Southern/Western americans have pleeeenty of spice tolerance given the regional foods / what immigrants to those areas have brought (chinese, korean, japanese, thai, filipino, laotian, etc and obviously mexican/latino food is spicy as well, which is common in the south/the west)
low spice tolerance people are obviously more common in the northeast/north central US, sure, yeah there are a lot of low spice tolerance americans, but there are just as many who are fine with spice.
I agree that there are chinese foods that dont get sold/made in the US, sure, but those are 99% of the time ingredient things or non-spice related palette things (like for example fermented stuff is usually less popular)
If you want a real place with low spice tolerance and fake chinese food have you ever seen UK chinese food? That shit is ass and def not very spicy at all

i already explained the generalisation. i do mean 2nd generation immigrants too please read my arguements above i agree with you on the bottom too but specfic ingredients are either unavaliable or too expensive for immigrants resulting in whats made being slightly or very different from the true thing like no one sells chillis for a cheap price like its sold in asia. simply the cost prevents it from happening

Viet is very good, Korean is overrated. There are too many kind of Chinese foods and depends on the region, they are a lot different so i think its impossible you can find them all mid to be honest.

isn't korean food just taking other country's food and modifying it and calling it their own like gimbap

bro said "kr ppl gonna come for you" every korean knows jjajangmyeon, jjampong, tangsuyuk all come from china lmao they are literally labeled as korean-chinese foods (not that the korean and chinese versions taste similar at all, they're totally different in flavor)

theres lots of good authentically korean food. i literally eat kimchi with every meal my body is basically 80% kimchi at this point

im from northern china ethinically, so im close to the koreans lots of similarities betwen the food like we have pickled cabbage too but its not technically kimchi.

yeah geographic closeness is always gonna result in similar food culture. stuff like the weather, the farmland, all contribute to that. every culture has pickled/fermented vegetables tho the europeans have sauerkraut which is their version, i just fuck with kimchi the most

japanese food is only good in japan, the reason being they put massive emphasis on ingredient quality and craftsmanship

get ramen or sushi anywhere else in the world and its a joke compared to in japan
