how does round differential work?

can someone explain round differential to me? does it play a big role in the game?

if the match wins and individual map win/loss are equal then the round differential being higher in the positives are better. you won more rounds than lost

in the game no, but in the group format yes, basically if youre tied on map diff, it goes to round diff
