Your thoughts on the post-plant delay concept

The Viper nerfs got me thinking...

Is the post-plant delay/lineup too oppressive in Valorant?

On the one hand, some may think learning Viper, Brim, Sova, etc. lineups in the post plant is a cool aspect of achieving agent mastery. Furthermore, they may think that it adds another wrinkle to the game and makes Valorant more complex/interesting.

On the other hand, some people might think that, in the post-plant, certain agent's abilities are, one, oppressive, and, two, have a low ceiling/are too easy to use. KJ mollys come to mind--I know you can break them, but (especially in lower ELOs) people forget to do so. Actually, Astra in her prime might even be a better example (5 stars era). Astra meta in pro play was SO oppressive with the grav well.

Obviously, this question is context dependent: pro vs ranked, which agent, etc.

Still, I'd like to hear your thoughts!

Also, if any CS heads are online, can you tell me how it compares to Valorant on this "issue." Just from watching FaZe highlights on YT over the past couple of years, it seems like its not as big of a factor.

Post-plant delay is an inevitable consequence of mollie abilities. There's no way to really nerf it other than taking the ability away as the geometry of a map will always allow for a lineup somewhere + abilities like KJ mollies exist. I think the post plant delays can get pretty oppressive but in a semi-coordinated team (i.e mid-high elo, pro, premier, etc.) it might work once before you just push/flank the person lining up to disrupt.

You could hypothetically nerf lineups by adding a projectile timer that either destroys the projectile when its been in the air for too long or give every projectile ability the phoenix mollie treatment where it falls after a short period of time. A problem from this I can see happening though is just all projectile abilities becoming super inconsistent with how they move/when they get destroyed.

Im personally okay with post plant abilities it brings put variability in the game. Yea in ranked it sucks but on pro play what seperate a good team from other is knowing your opponent win con and disrupting.

Also post plant meta hasn't been as used as before teams end up using those mollies to flush out defenders the problem i have with so many mollies in the game we are gonna have a point in the vame where playing on site isnt possible anymore and its just gonna be retake simulation
