why would u do 4 matches on group finals when you could do 4 quarterfinal matches instead and have the top 2 of each group get playoffs. The whole point of the international tournaments is to see different matchups between teams from different regions and they are wasting these games on a group finals which will probably be a rematch anyways instead of seeing new matchups

Because they can only run 3 bo3s per day, and with your format they would have to run one of the quarterfinals the same day groups are still running (which makes no sense because you need groups to finish to draw quarterfinal match ups)

This format would be fine if they just added a quarterfinals with 2 teams from each group make it out. It's an extremely brutal format as it stands.

U dont have to draw quarte finals, u can set it before. Atm there is huge rematch potential wich sucks hard
