riot please fix the bracket

having GSL with grand finals to have 4 teams advance is just dumb. take off the grand finals and add a single elim 8 team bracket.
grand finals in groups is shit, here is why:
u get a rematch with very high probability (people dont wanna watch the same match twice)
if 2 very good team get put into the same group one gets 8th for sure
if a team wins the first time by far they can lose the second series and go out

if it would be a 8 team bracket teams would reseed in the groups stage and first places would play second places in playoffs first. in the end u have a more accurate top 4 in semis than in this format atm

What you're suggesting is basically this format, but with four groups. Interesting how they chose to just give an additional decider in the same group instead of just extending this concept to a 8 team bracket.

Also what you are suggesting is the gsl format, what they currently have is not gsl.

Scheduling, Again, it's impossible to schedule it correctly without adding another day to the event. Think about it this way. In your scenario, you're playing the group matches and you complete group A, but you've only played 2 bo3. Then. you complete group B, but you've only played 2 bo3. It is shit, I agree, but that's how it works

day 1: a openings + one b opening
2: othe b opening + both c openings
3: d openings + elim matche of group a
4: the remaining elim matches
5: upper group a-c
6: upper d and lower a and b
7: lower c and d + quarter finals 2nd group b vs first group a
8: the other 3 quarters
9: semis
10: finals

not optimal but better than the other thing. also where did the 11th day go, it was supposed to start on 9th sep not 10th
if there was this extra day it wouldve been just 2 games from day 7 to 10

Is it three games max per day or three games on average? I would be concerned if the scheduling would be that inflexible to begin with tbh. For example, in Reykjavik they had one day with four matches.

I think single elim is acceptable for four team playoffs. After all the ultimate reward of the tournament is a champions slot for you or bringing the slot to your region. To have that reward you have to defeat every team either way.

Additional effect of single elim playoffs is the hype factor, each game has weight behind it. With double elim in a four team playoff, it would just feel weird in my opinion.

i mean its nota lower bracket run with 4 teams, at elast doesnt feel like one. I hope next year its 8 team double elim playoffs (expect for champions) since masters is a qualifier after all

It's gonna be hard to qualify for champions by winning this masters. Time is crucial and even if the teams did good in this masters some wouldn't still have enough points to qualify for champs they still need huge preperation for lcq. Just my opinion
