anyone knows why sea has 2 slots and korea has only 1? i mean korea is 3rd best region right now

Slot distribution was done way before Iceland

sea is a bunch of countries so 2 is kind of fair but i think korea should have 2 also

imo NA and EMEA should both have 4 instead of NA having 3 and then take off SEA's second slot

or even JP's second slot

If NA gets 4 then EMEA should get 5, EMEA is 3 regions and NA is 1. Giving NA 4 isnt fair. Unless they all get top 3 in Berlin or something like that which wont happen

SEA defeated Japan in Iceland , SEA has like 6-7 countries , whereas Japan(single country) has 2 slots. So I think instead of taking away the slot of SEA , it should be taken away from Japan. and yes, I would definitely want Korea to have slots instead of JP having 2 slots.

Yeah kinda weird but there is an Asian last chance qualifier so they can get 2 teams in reality

no india cant go through sea quals, they have to qual through apac lcq. also population shouldnt decide the slot, size of the scene, depth of the scene and the viewership of the scene should.

Its not about it being more regions, by that logic SEA should have 10 teams lol. The thing id there is way more high level competition in EMEA then in NA. More teams competing and more teams at the top. Thats the reason behind it. The argument that its more reason makes no sense unless the regions get seperate slots then u can say that

I think it might be based on team population? (I might be wrong) like if you go into the rankings tab and look at “full EU rankings” or “full NA rankings”, you can see that Eu has like 200 something teams while NA has like 100 teams, but if you look at Korea’s ranking, it literally only has 15 teams, and only 5 of them are possible contenders in the world stage.(Nuturn, VS, TNL, F4Q, Damwon). I mean you could say that they deserve. 2nd spot because how good they have been doing but I think riot is trying to develop the valor ant scen worldwide and give all regions proper chances, and giving slots based on number of teams make sense( and its the most fair). People don’t bully me, I could be totally wrong, this is just my opinion. Also just double checked and it seems that SEA actually has the most teams after EU. So yea, 2 slot in champions makes sense.
