Why is sScary not mentioned often when talking about best smoke players in the world? Always mako, s0m, marved, pancada, even mindfreak, but I think sScary is up with them. What’s yall rankings ?
Im ngl, i feel like a lot of bias goes to how many kills they have and not how good their improv util r. At the start of the round they have strats which means the smoker is following basic steps, so saying like that was a good smoke during this execute isnt a good measurement because they scrimmed and practiced that smoke a lot.
Take som for example, we all remember that prx loss round on pearl. Do u think someone who is honestly more experienced on smokes could have clutched that round?
After all dont we probably think som is cracked at smokes because of his aim. Take alfa, he has one of the greatest aim out there and when we think about sentinels, he is one of the best sentinels out there. So really are we going off of util or like aim.
Honestly i think sscary is better than a lot of tier 1 smokes. His aim is decent but compared to like s0m, not as good. His decision making and how to play off his util really shows how good he is
condsicc [#2]It’s cus he didn’t play in the T1 scene last year which was his first year as a controller I believe (? I’m not sure I don’t follow APAC val scene)
No he played controller in 2021

He played in every single major event before franchising. He was offered contracts by 5+ tier 1 teams in Pacific, and was originally going to play with Talon, as that was his team for his entire career, but BLEED offered an irresistible contract for him financially, so he joined them. Just look at some of his performances before franchising. Not to mention a great year in T2, with one of the best clutches ever, I think he's one of the best for sure.
Masters 1 2021 (SEA Region) --- 1st Place
Masters Reykjavik 2021 --- 7th / 8th Place
Champions 2021 --- 5th / 8th Place
Masters Reykjavik 2022 --- 9th / 10th Place
Masters Copenhagen --- 11th / 12th Place
Champions 2022 --- 13th / 16th Place
I've always liked watching sScary play, because he's just so smart. I think he gets underrated again because he hasn't had team success on the international stage, other than a few upsets. I hope BLEED can do well next year so he gets his respect.
FireII [#9]are u a sscary fan lycan? (not just cus u like bld)
all i know is he carried 4 mid players to masters and champions

Would you think he wasn’t as successful because of his team or has he improved a lot last year
condsicc [#11]Would you think he wasn’t as successful because of his team or has he improved a lot last year
He has definitely improved, but I think he was still amazing before. I'm assuming you've seen his ascension finals clutch, but if you haven't just take a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67YaPTOTX_I
The clutch doesn't really show much about him as a player but one of the best plays ever deserves appreciation

Ye I’ve seen that clutch. The thought process behind it is probably top 10 even in Tier1
Jezy [#15]s0m is crazy for only playing one year no ?
I would argue he was the most consistent component of NRG and excelled in his role
LyCan52 [#10]all i know is he carried 4 mid players to masters and champions
foxz and pati are pretty good imo sushi and crws are mid tho

Agree, but his stats are amazing. His rating on controllers is on par with pancada, behind mako, ahead of everyone else

Thats the thing though, a huge factor of rating is based on kills and deaths. Thats y alfa is like the one with the highest rating. Honestly to get to go indepth of how good their skills other than aim is vod review
