ow2 introduced new maps and improved old ones, improved textures, improved sounds, introduced new gamemodes, improved hit reg, changed to single tank, etc. legit did more than cs2.

- except paraiso & shambali monastery all the new ow maps suck objectively speaking.
- improved textures? debatable. sure they improved character models (re: higher res skins) but the maps more or less remain the same.
- I prefer ow1 sounds but to each their own. same goes with cs.
- improved hit reg? lol. ow1 had bad hit reg which got even worse with ow2; currently not as bad as it was at launch, I'll give them that. still worse compared to ow1.
- new gamemodes. sure they're new but the entire community hates push and flashpoint.
- changed to single tank? MR12. next.
ow2 is nothing more than a cash grab. they changed their business model to f2p and added overpriced cosmetics and battlepass just like any other modern live-service games. blizzard is just greedy. look at the state of OWL.
what i'm saying is that blizzard didn't do shit considering it's a character based shooter just like riot can shake up the meta by adding new agents and tweaking the old ones. cs has been tried and tested, perfected over the years. obviously you can't expect drastic changes to the core gameplay to change unless it's an entirely new game. the only thing holding it back is lack of a good anti-cheat. had blizzard not backtracked on releasing a fully-fledged PvE with skill trees as they promised in blizzcon 2019, then sure ow2 would've been in a much better place.
