i think it was just that the guard realised it wasn't profitable so they pulled out

in all seriousness though i think what happened is guard tried to sell their spot with their players to another org since the org was leaving esports as a whole. This resulted in riot getting angry since the one thing they dont want is orgs selling their spots like it was in league.

1. Kroenke gave up on esports, so org just straight up refused to sign the terms regardless of what they were. The reason they let them play ascensions if this was gonna be the outcome was because of contract agreements probably

1. kse are shutting down esports divisions

1. Guard didnt have all 5 players since some of them took franchised contracts leaving them to find players to finish the 5.

2. Need more from riot here

It is obvious both of them are hiding stuff but I just cant see any other reason for Guard to not sign the contract other than not having all their players on the same page.

But riot gets to chose the org? So this is very unrealistic

The problem isn't even about the Guard.
The real problem here is the players and staff who worked their ass of and ascended are not being allowed to take their chance even as free agents

When riot made this decision, the players werent F/A. After getting kicked, now they are F/A. So, NOW riot can still find some kind of solution.

If thats the case then they could've atleast discussed it with the players behind closed doors rather than just announcing "Hey remember tryharding for half a year and winning ascension? Yeah fck that. You're out cuz we said so"

There is 4-5 month offseason before the league starts to actually come up with a fine solution.
