the franchising system is already broken

the only incentive to put effort into Valorant for people who are not in franchising (players, coaches, investors, executives...) is the prospect of winning Ascension and sitting at the table with the big dogs.

Now, in YEAR 1, the veil has already fallen: Riot doesn't give a fuck about the so called competitive integrity, about the sports aspect of VCT, about rewarding who does better than their peers. Franchising is a full-on invite league, if you're out of it you are worthless in the eyes of rito and nothing you do has the power to elevate your condition

and the worst part is they don't even invite M80 to franchising

You're giving personal opinion here instead of understanding the idea behind the leagues

franchising is so cooked. Why would riot even say no one can be promoted. 1 whole year of grinding to have nothing come out of it

the idea behind franchising is trading openness of the system for stability of said system. The problem is Riot offered a franchising spot (for 2 years) to the winner of Ascension, and dozens of orgs from NA and LATAM put time, money and effort into fielding a team to try and win that spot. And now at the end of the season, after they've played since January, after a LAN called ASCENSION.. nobody ascends? How can Riot expect future efforts from T2 orgs if even if they do what they're told to do, in the end Riot changes idea and a whole T2 season is vanished? At this point rename Ascension to Riot Scouting Tournament and say upfront that the org that ascends, if that even happens, is the one that Riot arbitrarily prefers over the others

if we're being real here it was just unlucky really. all other orgs would have been fine. All other regions were fine. Its just unlucky gg go next year
