NETERO SUMMER ANIME 2023 RANKINGS

1. Undead Murder Farce - peak! An excellent mystery show loaded with public domain characters and some of the best dialogue in the medium since Oddtaxi. Same director from the Kaguya-Sama series. 10/10

2. Mushoku Tensei - animation quality isn't exactly as good as season 2 but still the upper echelon of isekais. Counter arrow arc was good but the school arc started with a bang! Not sure what else needs to be said about MT since i have praised it on here so many times. One of the most immersive fantasy shows out there. 9.5/10

3. My Happy Marriage - I would protect Miyo with my life 🐢 fantastic romance so far with good drama and some mystery. Beautiful art as well and a seiyuu of the year performance from Reina Ueda as Miyo. 9/10

4. Zom 100 - 🧟‍♂️ 🧟‍♀️ 🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️ The only flaw from this banger are the delays! Akira is the most batshit insane MC and I love it. The homie Kencho is cool too! 9/10

5. Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence - 🐢 Green haired waifu? Slice of life romance animated by Doga Koba? Very cozy show with a nice handrawn art style and endearing characters. The only high quality fluff show this season imo. 8/10

6. Tenpuru - a harem with some charm. A pretty funny MC but I'm mostly watching for the fan service 6/10.

Dropped:

Reign of the seven spellblades - eh had some potential but the pacing is all over the place and the characters are a bit 1 dimensional. 5/10

The Gene of AI - meh 4.5/10

Vending Machine Isekai - sorry isekai memers, this show stinks!

My Tiny Senpai - holy mid. Project No.9 needs to stop reusing assets, all of their shows look the same. 3/10

level 1 demon lord and 1 room hero felt like a 6/10 at first but slowly grew on me

I personally like reign of the seven spellblades except for maybe the latest episode. idk maybe i miss anime where half the girls aren't kuuderes or tsunderes and just feel like chill people. I like their friendship dynamic but im worried about the writer trying to shove a harem on the mc

Undead Murder Farce - Decent for a seasonal, but I can't imagine it being anything more. It just seems too cluttered at the moment with references to European detective fiction characters and their relevance to the story. Best thing about it is the dialogue for sure.

Mushoku - Still great even with the inconsistent art and frames, I think the ED part is a bit silly even for MT but nothing unexpected. The adventure vibe is still there.

My Happy Marriage - The fantasy element and the production are keeping this show alive for me, the antagonists are all pretty stupid and one dimensional. At least the main couple has good enough chemistry and a big plus for it not being about teenagers.

Zom 100 - I feel like this show told its main message in the first episode already and also invested its best effort into it. Been a snoozefest since then and the production doesn't seem to be going that well either, I am expecting more delays since Bug Films has been outsourcing a lot.

Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence - Average sol romance, you get what you see I guess.

Tenpuru - Average harem but hey at least the guy isn't your average self insert.
