- EG vs LOUD
- NRG vs TL
---------------------- - DRX vs Fnatic
- PRX vs EDG/T1
cause Riot loves putting NA teams on the same side of the bracket
- Optic vs Guard round 1 Iceland
- Optic vs XSET round 1 Copenhagen
- Optic vs XSET round 2 Champs
brdreamer [#4]Trust them, it's a random draw...
Riot: "It's a random draw!"
The random draw: LOUD vs NRG round 1
CowboySG2 [#10]Imagine how different Reykjavik could've been if the Guard don't choke that.
tbh optic would still win and the guard would probably still go 1-2 but narratives would definitely change regarding The Guard being onliners
aTastyCook1e [#8]LOUD and TL will face T1/EDG or FUT/DRX
all bye teams are treated as 1st seeds and all teams from groups are treated as 2nd seeds. one 1st seed will be matched up against one 2nd seed. beyond that, there is no distinction between the teams

Yeah, one 1st seed will face one 2nd seed, however there are seeds between these 1st seed and 2nd seed, we can separate the 8 teams into 4 pots to facilitate visualization:
pot 1: LOUD and TL
pot 2: FNC and PRX
Pot 3: EG and NRG
Pot 4: FUT/DRX and T1/EDG
pot 1 vs pot 4, and pot 2 vs pot 3.

not true. this is from https://www.vlr.gg/220317/masters-tokyo-groups-and-schedule-unveiled :
"The two best teams from each group will then be placed into the playoffs, where the draw will be mostly random. There will be just two contingencies at play: group stage teams must face top-seeded teams (the top team from Americas, Pacific, and the two best from EMEA), and teams from the same group will be placed on opposing sides of the bracket."
meaning NRG and EG WILL be on the same side of the bracket, but there's nothing stopping from any bye team being on the same side of the bracket as another bye team. Your "pot" system works for pot 3 and 4, but not 1 and 2.

It may not be official, but in case there isnt a live Riot draw for all to see, the pot system I put in wasnt a figment of my head, its exactly this pattern that happened in the 2 masters last year that had this exact same format.

https://www.vlr.gg/event/1014/valorant-champions-tour-stage-2-masters-copenhagen/playoffs
The Pacific seed 1, which was PRX itself in these 2 events, faced a group stage seed 1, while the EMEA and NA (Americas now) seed 1 faced the group stage seed 2.
If Riot doesnt do a live draw, Im 100% sure TL and LOUD will face FUT/DRX or T1/EDG. 😬
gamr [#11]tbh optic would still win and the guard would probably still go 1-2 but narratives would definitely change regarding The Guard being onliners
Not sure. I think the Guard would've fared better against now traditional teams, especially with a win under their belt to build confidence. However I agree optic still would've went on a run.

Gotta give NRG the maximum lower bracket run to build hype for the grand finals rematch
