IMO they should split the Pacific into two leagues, APAC North, which will consists of CN, KR, and JP (and maybe HK/TW) and APAC South which will consists of old APAC

The playerbase potential in JP <<<<< CN, simply due to population, there aren't enough quality players to make up a competitive league

And while they're at it they should split america into NA and SA. Also having Europe and CIS in one league is kinda massive no wonder they are winning so much. /s

Pacific is not good enough yet.

what does that have to do with anything? it's not about "good enough" bruh. it's more about "representation". there's a lot of region in APAC that has yet to get a representative in the league, like OCE, Vietnam, and HK/TW.

I have thought about it before but "APAC NORTH" would be way bigger in terms of viewership and team quality.

It's really hard to split Asia into 2 leagues, geographically and viewership wise equally.

yeah that's true, I guess CN can just make their own league, while KR and JP will make the APAC north. JP got the viewership while KR got the talents

No, they shouldn't. That way APAC will get even more undeserving free slots

If the teams are bad why should we waste spots on them in international events when that spot could go to a way better team from a different region.
I agree that there should be regional leagues and such but isn't that already planned with t2?
Those teams are not tier 1 teams, is what my point is. (eg FCY or Order)

I think the representation in pacific is mostly good (maybe minus a KR team for VN/OCE/TW) and they should just let CN have their own thing since they planned out the whole ecosystem before they could play and CN has the population/money for its own league

I agree mostly but I think that korea isn't really overrepresented. Both geng and t1 have performed really well. If anyone Japan might be ( not saying they should lose a slot) i think we should just let ascension play out and maybe a VN/OCE/TW team get in (Fancy has probably a decent shot at it).

its not bout that. Undoubtedly Korea is good but no single country shld hv 3 reps when theres other countries as you mentioned exists and valo doing p well there

Most of the teams from those other countries are simply not fit for tier 1 competition yet. Name me one team from these countries that could reliably have a chance to beat geng or t1.
As long as they are at tier 2 level they shouldn't play in franchising.

The league is meant to be representitive though, South Asia didn’t do very well is 2022 but it was given a franchising spot the main issue at least in OCE there’s a severe lack of stable orgs with any team usually going bankrupt in 1-2 years while KR seems to be one of the few places teams actually make money

you could've brought a better argument but you chose this. Tell me how did you know how well T1 or GenG will play when partnership was announced. How will you know how good teams frm Vietnam or oce/hktw are unless you let them play? It's business so its based on how much money is to be made not merit
Ascension is probably the most level ground we will get

So you want an OCE org that only has import players, except maybe like one.
Instead I think riot should try to build up a decent tier 2 scene, which is where OCE players belong at the moment.

The point is kr had a lot of tier 1 talent.
These other countries dont yet. So if you have an org from there you will see a similar story to GES where they are just an import team.

I agree

  1. It was all about making a stable system (as per riot) and i really think OCE lacks good organisation that's why most probs they were denied and I also think Riot haven't really done much for the OCE scene

  2. SEA representation is very less in the Pacific Like only 4 Sea Teams from the major Sea regions HKTW , Veitnam all got neglected mostly cuz of not much big fanbase and stable orgs

  3. South Asia also the got the slot luckily most probs cuz teams like GE exist oth most probs another organisation could be choose to represent SA

I agree but saying that the franchising leagues isn't meant to be representative is totally false, because if that's the case NA should've had 7 slots at least in Americas inatead of only 5

Well I'm not saying that. Just how representative is an org that has no players from that country really.

Wellp I think A good Aussie roster can work
I also think a good Indian roster w 2 imports could work but GE didn't doo it cuz they wanted to be different 🤣🤣

not all orgs wants to build "the most competitive team in the world", like KRU for example, what's stopping them from just buying out a top NA/EU tier 2 team that would do better than KRU? it's because of their fans. The orgs obviously want to please the fans by not making "the most competitive team in the world" but by making "the most competitive team in the world that represent our region"

While I agree with your point, I think that there is still a big still gap between a team like KRU and for example the old full indian GES roster.
KRU is a proper tier 1 team even though their league performance was disappointing at times.
GES had maybe one player that they could even consider for tier 1.
That's the difference, you have to make it at least somewhat competitive or else it will be kind of a slot waste like Detonation is right now. And I don't know if a full VIET/OCE roster can play at tier 1 niveau, which we'll see at ascension.

If you really want to develop these regions you need a strong tier 2 scene as that is the stage they are at right now.

Also tier 2 EMEA is not at the level that KRU is at. NA is an exception bc they only got 5 slots which left them with some good tier 1 talent in the tier 2scene (M80, TGRD)
