It’s a better system than most other VRLs. Split 1 is literally useless in 90% of the VRLs

idk id rather a team preform poorly in split 1 and redeem themselves for the chance to qual

rather than a team doing well in the first split when teams are just being built and are uncoordinated but are handed a spot because they did well against these new teams
