What have old OPTIC that made it so good?

I'm genuinely asking, have we been seeing an NRG that doesn't come anywhere close to what old Optic used to be? Maybe it's just a bad phase or unlucky moments. Personally, I always thought that FNS was one of the reasons Optic was so amazing, but maybe the Chamber meta/Yay and Marved made all the difference. What do you guys think?

Their attack side is still good but the problem now is that they don't have a Yay to lean on when it comes to defense. A superstar like Aspas that they can just leave in an island and fully trust that he's atleast going to get 2 with the op

replacing yay with ardiis would've been fine if chamber meta stayed, the issue is that ardiis isn't a better duelist than yay
marved is better than s0m. not by that much, but he's still better.
role changes are fucking NRG, almsot every game they're doing something new with roles. they just need to lock them in and keep spamming them to practice and get comfortable.

just remember that every team had full access to chamber.. i guess only fns and chet really found the correct way to play him exceptionally well.

Every team had access to chamber but not every team had access to a yay. It's not that the team found the correct way to play the agent that no one else did, it's that the agent fit yay's aim and playstyle almost perfectly, since it allowed you to play a mix of passive and aggressive while the headhunter relied on good crosshair placement (which yay is still best in the world at)

i’m just trying to change the narrative that yay carried OpTic. he originally didn’t play the same passive way he did with chamber on andbox from what i recall, and it seems everyone just thinks he abused chamber. in reality, it was just fns and chet’s abilities to adapt to the chamber meta and recognize the strengths that the agent has. crashies, victor, and marved also set him up perfectly to find success with the kit. if chamber was so abusable, then why couldn’t other teams do it?? there’s really so much more behind the scenes that no one recognizes, all they see is the scoreboard and that is what matters most to them.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Of course, Yay was something else as well. But the Chamber meta didn't work so well for all teams

yeah fns chet and the rest of optic did a really great job in setting up yay and putting him in a position to utilize his aim.
one example being in his headhunter ace vs xset https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn7T9nU8O90
on the second kill he's getting a kay/o flash from screens into main

the role transferring that victor had to do as well is what makes this team bad, and ardiss's impact isn't as great as yay during optic

People getting downvoted for saying chamber meta but it's facts. With no chamber to hard anchor a site and essentially ensure a free kill or two before dipping out to safety while the rest of the team could show much heavier presence on the other site, Optic would be in a similar position that NRG are in. C9 isn't dumb, they dropped yay for a reason, it wasn't some random decision out of nowhere, he didn't offer close to what he did on Optic before chamber got hard nerfed.

uhh they arguably had to switch out there 2 best players with 2 slight downgrades. Also role changes have been fucking them.
