COD nails map realism, but terrible map design.
Valorant nails map design, but terrible map realism.
Counterstrike nails map design, and has amazing map realism.
Can Valorant move away from this "rich vs poor" or "industrialized vs residential" approach to maps? ie: Pearl, Split, Bind, Breeze, its such a boring cliché at this point.
I think Inferno is the most well designed map in recent competitive FPS history, a wonderful competitive map that has intuitive AND beautiful design.
What I'm trying to get at is: Valorant tends to put random objects in certain places because "it should be there for competitive gameplay aspects" without looking at the artistic reasoning behind it, making the maps play out very well but from a spectators point quite ugly and lackluster..
What do you think?
