Actually unlucky. When will the Ls stop sadge
imma be real bro, you honestly dodged a bullet. Almost all degrees are worth the same unless its a super ivy league ass school to employers. when you pay for college, your paying for the culture of the school you live at. do yourself a favor and go somewhere cheap so you can graduate with as little debt as possible. I got into NYU but they didn't give me any financial aid, and Im so glad I didn't just take a huge ass loan, knowing what I know now

W way of thinking, especially the "graduate with as little debt as possible".

What if op is LOADED
moatz [#12]Gg go next. Ppl from ivys sometimes land the same jobs as those from state schools
Also if you really want to go to a top tier school you can go there for grad school, it’s not always necessary but it’s a route you can take. You definitely don’t need a degree from a top Ivy League or so school to be successful tho

Yea that too. Some ppl save money during their undergrad and then attend a prestigious uni for their masters/phd
babysasuke [#3]The school you graduate from isnt really a huge deal to potential employers, I wouldn't sweat it.
depends on the school. But also NYU is way too expensive
brobeans [#17]depends on the school. But also NYU is way too expensive
I mean it’s definitely gotten a lot better in recent years but it’s still quite expensive

Never thought about it that way, thanks for the perspective ❤️

You can do community college for 2 years and graduate from public school and employers arent going to care compared to someone who went to private school for all 4 years
It's more about what you do while you're in school, as far as internships and what kind of portfolio you can put together

I’m not LOL. I def applied to too many reach schools and not enough 50/50s

Did you apply to any safety/state schools, also whats your planned major if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah that’s what my mom did
hey it’s all good man, a degree from a specific college doesn’t matter unless it’s law from an ivy or any other degree from a top 10 college. more than likely employers don’t really know what college is better than others once you get below the top 15 schools, and college is really about making connections rather than using that degree to find a job. you’ll be okay, just go to a college that fits your lifestyle.

Huge W, the stigma around ccs is so stupid

The college you go to feels all important when you’re applying but in the context of your life it’s really not. Don’t sweat it dude!
huhferno [#13]dont feel discouraged. im taking cc for 2 years and got accepted into my dream school just recently
Congrats dude!

side note: I'm not sure about NY or where OP is from, but New Jersey has some really good ones

Also some states have phenomenal state schools as well which are easier to get into as well as cheaper too

unless that private school is an ivy or top school. people aren't going to Harvard bc they have good teachers. its bc of the networking they give

If theyre giving you financial aid that sounds good, Ill just say one more thing I tell to a lot of my former underclassmen when the task me about college. Be prepared for life to fuck you over while in college. I was hospitalized multiple times while in college, and ended up failing 2 semesters and got NOTHING back when I tried getting a refund due to my health. I'm lucky I had the support of my family to help me get back on my feet (I'm still trying honestly). So make sure you go to someplace where you can have a safety net, whether its close to home so your family/friends can help if you're close or a community college or other cheap place that you can work while you learn and save up money yourself.
hey man. I understand you pain. I also went through this and let me tell you it doesnt always make sense. i got rejected by multiple low ranked unis but got accepted into a higher ranked uni. My friend got rejected by NEU but got into UCSD. I know its difficult to be positive right now, but trust me something big is coming your way.

Yeah that’s my state school, I’m glad I even got in tbh. It’s where I’ll probably go and I’m happy with that! My family’ll be nearby in case shit happen and while I’m sad that happened to you, I’m glad that you were able to recover. Thank you for your advice!
