World Cup gives a spot to host country, it wouldn't be unheard of and I would feel pretty bad for Japanese fans not having someone to cheer for in their tournament. Maybe take out one of the Chinese invited teams?

The Japanese team's game is just to take their time, fire at random, and repeat going to the areas they can get.
They rarely show us interesting moves, it is like we are being shown endless games of GMB without much firepower.
