What has happened to G2?

Been away for some time, can someone tl;dr what has happened to G2 in EU? Last time I've watched VLR EU they were 1st in Rankings.

Other teams caught up

Teams caught up to their old strats and they now struggle with team comps and IGLing

Also they now have dropped majority of roster and are building new around mixwell and pyth

They haven't really been a top 8 team in EU since the start of the year
