I have a Steelseries QCK mouse pad for my mouse and a Magic Eagle mouse pad that covers my whole desk for grip

yes, my table has a very smooth matte finish which is honestly better than cheap mouse pads IMO. I actually do have a mousepad (nothing to expensive though).
The table feels smooth and my mouse moves without much resistance. With some cheap mousepads, after a while, the mouse starts to get sticky which I really don't like. So after my mousepad got old I just started using my table.
