Soccer is overrated af
Canada qualified for the World Cup in like 36 years or so but
No Canadians give a sh*t
Most think football and hockey are the real men's sports
depends
some fans (weird) call it football
everyone sane person calls it soccer over here
thats how i understand at least
we have so many good sports (2 lol) afl and rugby, why would you consider shit soccer which is non-existent in this country, football?
we have 2 footballs, and they are goat, soccer, is irrelevant in our country and anyone who calls it football (everyone who likes it) comes across as weird to me and many other australians
football is a broad title for a sport
soccer, rugby, afl, gaelic are all types of football
im from australia and how we see it is, afl and rugby are 2 very popular sports in our country. we grew up on these sports and we much prefer them to this shit bri'ish sport
anyone in our country who calls it football is weird to uss because socer is irrelevant here and if you talk about footy in australia, then you have to be talking about afl or rugby
Only north americans think local favorite = gobal. Im not saying NA's sports is trash tho, like im a fan of basketball i can say that im pretty cultured because i am a fans of san antonio spurs that are LITERALLY a small market organizations in the nba, i love them because they have a rich history. but most of us who enjoy watching football don't care if it doesn't popular in NA, because at the end of the day football are a global sports that having the most passionate fans across the globe.
It's funny reading this because Americans try so hard to be different from the rest of the world with their system (Imperial vs Metric), backwards dates (MM/DD/YEAR vs DD/MM/YEAR), spelling (Color vs Colour) and yet they complain what they do is the "global" version. Americans just keep your things domestic, then no one will complain.
