The CN scene has huge potential, will Riot be holding open Invivationals for them like this year ?

If so, that's a fat waste. Tier 1 Leagues always create a scrim bubble, outsiders can almost never compete.

The game isn't even approved there. We'll most likely see another third party circuit.

On second thought, KR orgs can sign at least some of them, right ? GenG and T1 have yet to sign anyone.

Well, it's legal enough for FGC Invis to attract most top tier CN orgs. I can understand viewership could be fucked if the general populace is not playing the game, but the players are good.

Even this year they secured the LCQ slot. APAC will be much less competitive without them imo.

the review process for games being published in china is extremely long + the censorship laws are very very strict, so every single inch of content has to be scrubbed and sanitized before it’s approved for the public

Maybe, but we're seeing international signings all over APAC right now. You can't be suggesting that East Asians don't speak English.

Most can't speak English well sorry to break your bubble . Aside from basic rank calls communication in team environment is different. Also these "international signings" you speak of is only GE who also is currently forced to sign different talents because they don't have enough good Indian players. Wait 2-3 years and it'll be a full Indian roster. That's just how orgs and playerbases are in Asia

China is big enough for their own market and league. There'a a reason why League has a separate franchised circuit there alone. Riot may have the social presence there and they somewhat took the gamble with having CN teams on the EA LCQ, but as far as integrating them into the larger VCT ecosystem — that's a different story.

Putting them with APAC will be a disservice.

RIOT won't be taking a chance by organising huge events there because the game isn't approved. Too much activity and it'll be flagged by government and further delayed for eternity. So even if RIOT or tencent want they can't have much activity there

for EDG in specific Kang Kang as seen in Yinsu interview he speak very little english. I've seen Haodong speak basic english in foxz stream. Basic rank calls communication they should be able to... But when it comes to strategy meeting/discussion by coaches and team synergy good level of english understanding is needed.

KK's English is not too bad to be honest, Life's English is super good though, was just a shame we didn't see much of him at Champs
