They quit because there are no positive signs of Riot setting up anything for tier2 in foreseeable future
There are not even solid shit about the tier 1 scene, for christ's sake, we only know a little about it. They don't have any success outside of mickey mouse tournaments and they want to get rid of their val teams and now they got a """"""""reason"""""""""
They quit because it's dumb to pay your players large salaries hoping that at some point in the future your spendings will be noticed and rewarded for being patient
Paying big salaries and huge contract fees is all on the dumb NA policy of overpricing the players, the orgs themselves are helping to make the scene worst, it's been discussed since forever in here. Plus, they already have no perspective on this year, their year was over after not getting a chance on LCQ, highly doubt they would release their players without any fine or shit, they just needed a reason to dump the guys. I feel bad about the players, not the org.
Imagine you're Akrew head of esports
You entered Valorant to get the slice of popularity of a new game, increased brand value, farmed social media accounts, signed contracts with new sponsors, took a cut from tournament winnings and so on
Everything was fine, but now there's a big ass offseason all the way until 2023, you have no idea what Riot is planning, you have no idea how their support for tier2 will look like, you have no idea how popular tier2 is gonna be among casual audience, you have no idea whether it's smart to trust Riot secret plans and keep wasting money on current roster until further announcements come
Then you pause Valorant division, you might come back when things are clear and they have a good scheme for next year, but currently it doesn't make any sense to just fully give yourself to the hands of shitty Riot with the way they've managed this esport so far, there's horrible ecosystem in all regions and they don't do anything about it
