Why does South America (BR + LATAM) have 4 spots (1BR + 1LATAM +2 LCQ SA) in champions while EMEA only have 3 (2 + LCQ)?
EMEA region - EMEA
SA region - LATAM + BR
kbkdark [#6]Let's be honest, EMEA is just Europe... Africa and Middle East t1 teams can't even beat t3 European teams
+
LATAM is LAN and LAS
So what? Europe playerbase and results across Valorant internationals are bigger than those of Brazil + Latam combined
yoru_instalock [#4]its the same slot allocation as last year except the masters 3 slot was given to asia ?
Yes, but it doesn't mean last year's allocation was tolerable
Olofboost [#7]So what? Europe playerbase and results across Valorant internationals are bigger than those of Brazil + Latam combined
wait whats the source of the playerbase numbers?
i dont get it.
The number of players per region cannot be a reason either:

this post ist 11 months ago but the numbers are similar today.

The @Pro_Ralph point was about regions' sizes, but I'm not saying that EMEA deserves less slots cause of this
Champions needed to be 24 teams:
EMEA - 5
NA - 4
APAC - 4
KR - 1
JP - 1
LATAM - 2
BR - 2
LCQ LATAM+BR - 1
LCQ EMEA - 1
LCQ APAC - 1
LCQ NA - 1
LCQ JP+KR - 1
nutab1e [#13]wait whats the source of the playerbase numbers?
There was a statistic long ago comparing number of immortals in EU/TR servers and BR/LATAM servers
Number of immortals directly represents the competitive playerbase which can participate in VCT qualifiers
EU/TR had 3 times more than BR/LATAM

it could be that simple...

yeah someone linked it at the bottom
otwalcott [#12]Not saying it's good logic, but in Masters I EMEA made Lower R2 whereas SA made Finals so I could see them deciding solely on that lol
Slots were decided before 2022, they couldn't know Loud would reach GF
And where is South America now btw? Not a single team in top-4, Brazil dead last

Yes, it would be better, plus if there are 2 slots from BR+LATAM LCQ is there a point of having a final, since the objective is just qualify?

maybe they'll figure something out with seeding but I don't think it will be that relevant since with 16 teams in champions everyone will start in groups
it's kind of anticlimatic, I bought my tickets to the LCQ finals but it's weird cause there's no stakes in this match

the 2 best teams based in points in each region pass directly to champions... the 3rd and 4th of each region battles against each other to get the last slot
If it happens according to this VCT points:
LOUD and NIP goes directly to champions
LEV and KRU goes directly to champions
SF A - VK (BR 3rd) x FUSION (LATAM 4th)
SF B - Lazer (LATAM 3rd) x FURIA (BR 4th)
GF - Winner SF A x Winner SF B - Who wins it goes to Champions
nutab1e [#25]I feel like they should've given turkey a dedicated slot this year especially since champions is in Istanbul. It's a shame how they let they viewership there die
spot is decided before country announcement iirc

No way you give apac 4 slots and japan one, even if we consider slots were decided pre 2022, japan viewership is a serious enough reason to allot them 2 slots. Also apac doesn't deserve 4 slots , prx is the only good team, the rest teams are a tier behind, who can't reach top 8 of a tournament unlike latam or japan

absolutamente nada a ver
https://www.vlr.gg/event/1111/champions-tour-south-america-last-chance-qualifier
https://www.vlr.gg/vct/standings - for BR and LATAM it's just 1st place
check each LCQ first, it's not just 3th and 4th

mano... cê ta confundindo tudo, o que eu mandei ali em cima é o que seria o ideal de acordo com o que eu falei dos slots pra um champions com 24 times
e não o que vai ser agr

I'm making a full group stage 24-teams champions format with a different distribution of slots... I'll share here soon
so don't worry 😄
