It's because they don't have different maps, so multiple BO1s over a period of 5 weeks works well. This isn't like Val or cs that they need BO3s.
Only playoffs have B05s

This is a lame excuse, bo3/5 are better than Bo1 anyday. Riot uses the same lame format for Worlds Main Event since 2014. In the whole competitive year, there are only 10 bo5s played in international events (7 Worlds + 3 MSI) and 0 bo3. Do you really think that's good?
