This is a bad take even if there were quite a few bad updates the constant flow of attention and changes to the game is what keeps it alive

a lot of bad updates though you are right it is what keeps it popular not alive tho, the community is very much the opposite of living and thriving its in shambles there is little to no pro scene out of cash cups and some opens whereas in valorant and league, games that continue flourishing, the updates are scarcer but have a more profound impact and truly contribute something

It killed the game for me at least, the constant updates didn’t let you get used to the gameplay enough

Look at CS:GO. One of the Most popular esport and saw a resurgence of players after the major, and the game has only a few updates a year.
