What makes DRX significantly better in Korea compared to international tournaments? Their executes seem to be world class in Korea, but whenever they play in international tournaments, they lose by the slimmest of margins every time.
lune_eclatant [#3]I don’t understand why there aren’t any other Korean super teams because you have players like Sylvan and Lakia who seem like they can perfect most Korean teams.
Player base

because they get no pay cuz major korean orgs havent invested in the scene. so our best talent is in japan. even some of our best players like munchkin and harry are unsigned
Elcatsu [#5]Player base
yes its playerbase thats why our talent is getting exported to JP and NA ofc
KoreanOverlord [#8]yes its playerbase thats why our talent is getting exported to JP and NA ofc
Korea has the least playerbase out of any region
Nisham [#10]Korea has the least playerbase out of any region
because all the other regions are multiple countries???
KoreanOverlord [#8]yes its playerbase thats why our talent is getting exported to JP and NA ofc
Which talent has been exported to NA except Xeta? Im curious
Nisham [#10]Korea has the least playerbase out of any region
korea is one country with 40 million people with no interest in tac fps
KoreanOverlord [#12]because all the other regions are multiple countries???
Yeahhh???
thats why the scene is bad besides 2 teams. Not much top tier competition
KoreanOverlord [#8]yes its playerbase thats why our talent is getting exported to JP and NA ofc
dud i'm not even being bias it's just that player base has a big factor for competitive scene
KoreanOverlord [#2]dude, have you seen their series
against zeta buzz was playing astra on fucking split
thats all you need to know about them
#copemald
wizardbot [#14]Which talent has been exported to NA except Xeta? Im curious
Saya, most of former tier 1 talent went to Japan like Nuturn, former C9
wizardbot [#14]Which talent has been exported to NA except Xeta? Im curious
esperanza was trialing for t1 in stage 2 2021, seoldam was in talks with xset
Nisham [#16]Yeahhh???
thats why the scene is bad besides 2 teams. Not much top tier competition
did you miss the point? 150k active player for a single country is good
KoreanOverlord [#12]because all the other regions are multiple countries???
"All other regions are multiple countries" yes but they are merged as one region unlike korea.
KoreanOverlord [#21]did you miss the point? 150k active player for a single country is good
yea but its not enough for healthy competiton and to compete in international level where the playerbases are 1 mil +
Nisham [#19]Saya, most of former tier 1 talent went to Japan like Nuturn, former C9
Saya didn't get exported to NA to play valorant tho, he was already staying their because of Overwatch iirc.
KoreanOverlord [#2]dude, have you seen their series

zeta played astra everywhere and got top 3 lmao
SeulgiVLR [#20]esperanza was trialing for t1 in stage 2 2021, seoldam was in talks with xset
Oh ok, I was asking about the players who actually got signed and exported their. Because the only one who come to mind is Xeta. Ban and Saya were already living in NA.
wizardbot [#25]Saya didn't get exported to NA to play valorant tho, he was already staying their because of Overwatch iirc.
yea but still kr talent 🤗
Nisham [#24]yea but its not enough for healthy competiton and to compete in international level where the playerbases are 1 mil +
yeah but how are you gonna argue talent pool is the issue when 2/5 of JP playoffs talent are korean imports?
kzeriar [#26]zeta played astra everywhere and got top 3 lmao
It’s not that Astra was being played, it’s who was playing Astra for me. BuZz just didn’t look comfortable on the agent, especially on Split
SeulgiVLR [#11]they dont scrim korean teams, they only scrim the best of apac and china + their execs and game plan in kr isnt close to their international approach
is there a source to this?
drugsellernearyou [#34]is there a source to this?
just commonly known in korean community bc VS owner said this
Sprouts [#32]It’s not that Astra was being played, it’s who was playing Astra for me. BuZz just didn’t look comfortable on the agent, especially on Split
that's why they lost, man how could they not think of that
drugsellernearyou [#34]is there a source to this?
very commonly known in kr community but i cant remember an exact english source
NG1nS [#36]that's why they lost, man how could they not think of that
When did I say that was the only reason? Obviously none of us have any clue what is actually happening behind the scene, but BuZz’s Chamber and Killjoy were both incredibly good pre-Reykjavik and they threw that completely out the window
SeulgiVLR [#37]very commonly known in kr community but i cant remember an exact english source
yikes thats one way to harm your own region, now i see why the skillgap is there
KoreanOverlord [#31]yeah but how are you gonna argue talent pool is the issue when 2/5 of JP playoffs talent are korean imports?
The talent pool is great for the amt of playerbase but I dont think its enough for more than 3 Tier 1 teams. NA and EU have atleast 5 Tier 1 teams that can perform. Korea has 2 (I think now it will be 3) but the fact is that 1 slot doesnt allow the talent to grow because Riot decides slots based on playerbase
SeulgiVLR [#37]very commonly known in kr community but i cant remember an exact english source
do they scrim ons and dk?
jimjam789 [#42]do they scrim ons and dk?
no, their known scrim partners from what ive publicly heard are secret, xerxia, prx, zeta, cr, edg
SeulgiVLR [#43]no, their known scrim partners from what ive publicly heard are secret, xerxia, prx, zeta, cr, edg
damn thats tough, sure hope drx scrims with them so the scene can actually get better
