This is correct. Happy to be proven wrong when the time comes. But Reykjavik fnatic > current G2 it looks like.

it's the second, and so far the biggest international LAN. It's gonna be exciting anyway seeing other regions clash. What isn't exciting, is seeing 2 EMEA teams that played each other in qualifiers, play each other in their first gamae on LAN.

The levels of frustration bro. Group B is wild free. a simple swap will make things more interesting and competitive.

posted about 2 years ago

it's absurd, that should be SEN instead of Envy in group B.

Group A is a joke too.

Riot games, come on guys? Group A group of death whilst Group B is super easy.

From a seeding perspective it doesn't make sense.

From a regional strength weighting perspective, it still doesn't make sense.

Initially I thought they did this to avoid the possibility of 4 EU + 3NA teams taking up 7 out of 8 spots in the play off. But there's zero guarantee of this. This could backfire and guarantee VS to not make it out of groups.

SMB and Acend just played each other in qualifiers, why the hell is their first game at an INTERNATIONAL Lan another pseudo-regional matchup. Mega facepalm.

You're getting fans "HOPES" vs "Expectations" mixed up. TSM fans didn't believe that sh^t at all

This. But your comment will get lost in the sauce. Let the rabble continue argue.

correct. They need a big reinvention.

Nah, I think everyone recognises they are currently not in the discussion after their playoff performance. They are no longer rated, period

I had SMB in my pickem reaching berlin but not Gambit. So I'm going SMB 3-2 Gambit.

Gonna be a long ass afternoon boys.

it's not uncommon for them to drop maps in NA. Several examples.

But saying that, I don't know if I'd put money on them dropping a series. They look like they know something about this game that everyone else doesn't.

posted about 2 years ago

add to that, they only went into OT because jampii had a seriously seriously seriously off day(shit happens). The team liquid are lucky narrative is pure delusion. Yeah they're not always great, but they are absolutely not a lucky team, they literally almost beat gambit who are now running the show.

Riot overlords. Good on 'em

I get that, but how is it any different if an EMEA team wins?

Yes, it won't be auto qualification for 2 teams because of points standing. But still

Berlin winner
Emea circuit X2
Emea LCQ

This is the same as NA if Sen wins:
Berlin winner (Sen)
Na circuit X2
Na LCQ.

Correct me if I'm wrong, just confused by them singling out Sen in this situation. I've heard others do it too, can't see what I'm missing haha.

"or, in the case of a Sentinels victory, their region - in Valorant Champions, the end of year LAN tournament rumored to be held in Los Angeles."

Someone help me with this, I am a little confused. I understand that because of circuit points, Sen are already guaranteed a spot in champions, and if they win Berlin, that creates another spot for an NA team for champions.

But isn't this the case for all regions anyway?

For example if vS won Berlin, they automatically go to champions. But that also means another team from circuit points plus a team from LCQ gets a spot right?

The article makes it sound like this only applies to Sen, am I missing something?

On one hand the format is dire. On the other hand, this isn't supposed to be the grand international tournament we all want ( I presume that's champions). This is essentially another qualification step.

Let's hope for a better, less convoluted format for next year.

posted about 2 years ago

Yes. It's all LAN

posted about 2 years ago

You'd have to check haha. But it defo didn't work for coffee. Off top of my head I know tenz played it Vs genG on bind. In NA challengers

posted about 2 years ago

There are almost none. Pro players have said this on podcasts. Shaz, Depphh are probably top 2 in NA. and then below them is a big gulf in quality

Yup, it's always a strange matchup. Liquid Vs other teams you never know which liquid you're gonna get. But Vs fnatic they know each other so well and it's always close.
