g2 was good too, like wtf was the point of this
tldr; people are hoping he's the next primmie or Karon, but he also has the ability to improve the Japanese scene substantially (sort of like how Meiy did). Only issue is that he was a known cheater in other games, so people were a bit hesitant to pick him up initially when he first made the switch to val, but now he's having a life performance in rank and in trials (allegedly). I wouldn't rate him that highly as people have been, but I think that's mainly because he's an x factor. Without any performances outside ranked, there's only one source of info, so that's why people are on the train rn.
pretty sure exa is hawaiian
cane doesn't turn 18 until mid-season and ion is just way too young in general, so they'll need a sub for the first half and a more permanent sub for longer
they'll probably start slow waiting for cane to turn 18, but I think they can at least beat furia
narrate is lowk the emea farmer, so I can see a world where he gets back in his KC form ngl
I think this is less of cortezia being replaced and more of cortezia chasing the bag
that's just how vlr is. They have an addiction to recency bias
"xms's opping. they don't even have nivera opping. And then he smokes himself off... while holding mid. They use both of their smokes at the beginning of these rounds so they don't have any for the mid round. And then scream misses his molly from cat, and then redgar gets distracted by how badly it missed!"
english native
viet (I'm illiterate though. Like unironically illiterate)
japanese N5 (a bit worse than N5 tbh since I haven't studied it in a while tho; I believe the equivalent would be like A1)
spanish a1 (took a bit in high school, but haven't done since, so it's pretty chopped)
I'm also trying to pick up Mandarin, but we'll see since college is ramping up again.
I normally listen to ballads, but inari/congg (like they’re a combined channel) have this jpop-y kinda feel which may be close to what you’re looking for (it’s viet)
I think you did. For me, it says 88% of people have 5 points now
I'm ngl I didn't have them winning any matches anyway because I felt like xlg vs gx is a coin flip depending on individual performace, but it's so rough to lose such a good player at this crucial time
maybe its a coaching diff? hard to believe that all these players fell off the second they started rocking the fur banner
we ball with frz (senti), jzz (flex), pxs (initator), qck (duelist), dth (smokes). gotta have all the 3 letter names in one team; might as well run a gimmick
heat (senti)
mwzera (duelist)
nzr (initator igl)
tuyz (smokes)
havoc (flex)
lowk not terrible? I think this team can take at least one map this time! (I am very ehhhh on the havoc pick but like the rest of the choices are also ehhh so like it is what it is)
When I play in HK (I live in the US tho), the only comms I get are typically quite useless. I think I've had one game where I had a guy comm solely in Viet for ??? Luckily I speak Viet, so like it wasn't that bad, but like half the team is not Viet bro
like in ranked or competitively? Because he has no cis games on vlr
I don't think something has played in emea for a single day in his career, so I can't really fault emea scouting talent there ngl. However, they really should look into the apac region for their talent since a lot of cis talent is there due to geography
I mean, if we're doing that argument, okeanos could've learned portugese too no?
koi allegedly have no clue, but they guessed low skin sales and bad performance
they received no prior notice, riot scheduled an urgent meeting and basically kicked them out, they say they understand but wtf Riot should've given them a heads up before they started trialing and shit
just revamp the comps atp. -Kess +alym. zander smokes, cryo perma senti (with the exception of certain jett maps), alym duelist, asuna flash flex, eeiu scan
hmmm, I think least favorite has gotta be americas (not by a big margin or anything, they're all really great). I like how there's always strong talent waiting to be picked up, so it's always fun to see what t2 players thrive in t1
I like bonvoyage (the only girl kpop song I know off the top of my head) by DREAMCATCHER (I think was their name??)
I mean, the easy solution is to buff info on the flash initiators just a bit to make it a "whatever's more comfortable for that player" pick. Bring back two skye flashes (or at least make it rechargable), reduce kayo knife charge by a bit and make it so that knife also reveals as well as supresses but has a longer activation time, make gekko have two flashes, and breach is kinda in a metaish spot rn anyway.
t2 amer is looking so good individually rn. I would love for a lot of these players to make it to t1
idk valorant ping is weird. For ex, as a californian, I get better ping on hk/singapore than in tokyo which makes 0 sense geographically
EG is probably the best candidate tbh. 100T roles are a bit too weird imo.
his debut game was insane. 37/16 with 2+ rating iirc
I think realistically, keeping asuna is probably going to happen, mostly because he's pretty good on the raze and plays flash well (also never put him on neon ever again. If we're looking at stage 2 performance, he's only dropped stinkers on the neon. Every other agent, he's been either really good or just average on it. Also, I feel like he'd perform better if they didn't just throw him into situations). I do agree that dropping Kess is probably good though. What I think is best:
1) Drop Kess. I think he has a high ceiling, but he's just not right for the roles tbh.
2) Pick up Penny. He's proven to be very, very good on the duelist. Additionally, it opens the room for double duelist. I think koalanoob is a good option, but penny has been lowk a solo carry on apeks so.
3) I agree with your additions to the coaching staff, except maybe also keep zikz at least as an assistant coach.
4) Agree on the cryo being full time senti, but lowk run double duelist on jett maps and also slap my guy on chamber when possible
Roles being:
Zander on smokes, asuna as the flash initiator/flex, cryo on senti (and jett on jett maps), eeiu on scan, penny on main duelist
imo I like it because it encourages longevity and long-term performances, but I do agree that they should limit it to one spot and (imo) bring back lcq because watching lower ranked teams duke it out in a slug fest is lowk hella fun
I mean, I feel like his neon is too int-y. Like he's so good on the raze, yoru, and kayo, and lowk he's only been bad on the neon, but they keep putting him on neon for some reason
Lowk I would be down for a chamber comp on haven no? With asuna yoru
I mean, I can see the vision, but what’s the plan if they want to run any duelist besides jett? Derrek??? Or is the plan yay perma chamber and d1 perma jett and ban every non-jett map?
jawg has a great jett (eg vs nrg aware) and like top 5 raze and they just insist on putting him on yoru every map ._>
probably since there's a lot of footage and they became a huge threat so teams in China locked in and giga antistrat them
lowk jzz was very good
bro im so out of the loop. nvm this might be a great idea
I mean, I feel like logistically if they’re going to make a change, it’d be with a cubert player. Satellite is good, but his lows don’t really justify buying him out when they could just promote an existing player, yknow?
Tyloo Sword9 straight up being like I’ll do it myself after being their head coach and actually winning is aura
The options are kinda cooked since the current NA flex players are xeppa (c9), zellsis (sen), ??? For NRG (maybe Ethan?), ??? for EG (ig nature?), JonahP, and Asuna.
I hope that with all the flaming T1 has received from fans, it makes sylvan realize that he wasn't in the wrong completely and thus allows him to speak up. The main issue with the Korean social culture is that it makes sylvan implicitly think he's wrong since it's people with like 5x his experience critiquing him and thus he can't be right (basically learned helplessness in a sense). Like, why would he talk back if he's 'wrong'? However, like a bunch of people mentioned, he wasn't completely wrong most of the time. It is a team game at the end of the day, so he needs to justify his plays with conviction. Even if it is wrong, just being like "I had a bad read, but my thought process was x, y, and z, which is why I did what I did" is so much better than accepting that he was straight up wrong, since it's better to see WHY you were wrong than just that you were wrong.
I feel like askia was genuinely insane during stage 1 after zap got benched. Is there a reason he's off the team now? Just role issues or like?
The reasoning is probably that primmie is very good in the clutch (he literally won 2 1v4s in his debut), so they probably want to put him on agents that don’t die quickly. I’ve been a supporter of primmie flex for a while now, but the problem was who was gonna play duelist. If thyy’s ranked skill transfers here, so primmie can flex a bit more, then talon are going to look scary imo
Wrong xeus is linked in the second to last paragraph btw
For some reason, I thought this was going to be a rage bait list, but like this is actually pretty solid LOL
Xlg and g2 are playing with subs so there’s that
honestly I agree with the double duelist (mostly because im a sucker for double duelsit), but like miniboo is actually a good duelist. He was lowk insane during stage 1
probably shoulda yoinked the prx ascent comp with a slight alteration. keep shrimp on omen which he is very good at, kira on viper, xiyiji can play scan, delb on vyse, and spitfires on yoru. Keeps everyone on comfort while still being somewhat meta
