People talking about too many matches

I really dont seem to understand how anyone is excusing teams of too many games and thus not having strats, when they have had more than a couple of weeks between Events. I come from CS esports and there always used to be some tier 1 tournament and all teams competing within a week of previous torunaments. With New strats and fixes. I think everyone is being way too lenient in what is expected from the tier 1 teams now.

I am new to valo esports scene, so I dont know exactly if someone else shares this same concerns, but this has really intrigued me.

ps: English is not my first language, so please do excuse that.

I think you're misunderstanding, they are not exhausted because there are too much matches its more so when you have a harder time being good whne you play more matches than teams who only play fewer matches thats why KC/SEN/LOUD/GENG are all slipping despite being their region's representative in Madrid

SEN is the only team from madrid thats not gonna make playoffs

SEN still have a route to playoffs (a small one at that) and both EMEA teams still have paths to not make it

That then comes under consistency i think, and fans shielding their teams with the excuse of 'less time' just doesnt seem fair to me. WEEKS are more than enough to prepare strats. Teams that play fewer matches have less experience as well, compared to the ones with more matches, And comms and in game decisions should come esier to teams that play more matches.

There are pros and cons to both playing less matches or more, but hiding it behind, too exhausted and unable to create stats when again they have had weeks to do so, just isnt the excuse for this.

yeah I can understand being at a "disadvantage" for the first one or two games max, I didn't think loud losing to NRG was a catastrophe since it was understandable with their circumstances but to continue being bad after 3+ games just indicates a problem with the team. we've seen a lot of teams use new strats/comps and win with them in a matter of DAYS much less weeks. NRG used different haven and lotus comps in playoffs last year and won, loud went into champs 2022 finals with very little haven preparation and beat the best haven team at the time. PRX makes new strats/comps for every other game and does well with them

That's like saying "Hey the best student in our class can get 10 A so i expect the rest of the class to atleast get 9A"

no, it's like saying if you're a top student then you should be expected to get 10 A, otherwise you're not a top student

YES. All these teams are tier 1, and amongst the best of the best, and we naturally expect better from the top.

After champs there's usually a long off season.

  • In pacific we have players like xccurate (indonesian) and Jemkin (Russia) that took 3 months to get their VISA in time for new season.
  • Around October 2022 valorant announce partnership teams in which GE an Indian org was part of it. Their Indian players arrive in Korea in April 2023 due to VISA (late into the season).
  • 28 May 2023 PRX won Pacific grand final and they qualify to masters tokyo (June 11-25), their player something (russia) unable to get visa to compete and was absent all tournament.
  • 2023, Leo Faria (Global Head of Valorant Esports) said in interview americas ascension tournament (tier 2 NA/SA/LATAM) needs to be held in brazil because should brazil finalists qualify and need to travel to america, they would need 6 months of VISA application.

Since riot/valorant aims for global international tournament that give each region equal slots, the reality of multiple countries not having 1st world country passport would prevent heavy scheduling like CS, because all region needs to have similar schedule to field international tournament.

This are all acceptabel reasons for being not able to play in tournaments or having players absent in the tournament. Which right now hasnt been a problem.

What I dont understand is why people are calling weeks time in between tournaments less for strats and burnouts? VISA and intl tournaments reasons are very fair in what problems they present, but saying no time for new strats just doesnt sit right.

sen are just a washed fluke team that got lucky. People need to accept that tbh.
