well i mean worlds is the big thing every yr that drives viewership. also lck is pretty big.

in league there are only 2 events a yr. no cares bout msi where worlds on the other hand is biggest event in all esports. but theres also heavy stress on domestic play compared to val. seems that winning splits in val dont matter where in league they matter a lot.

cs is only double elim or swiss in group stages. its never double elim in playoffs. no one cares bout blast or pro league. also the gap between tier 2 and tier 1 in cs is hella smaller then the gap in val. lots of tier 2 teams in cs can b competitive or even beat tier 1 teams if its online or qualifiers(on lan is another story.)

i mean in val u play 1 match a week during the week in the splits. in league u play 2-3 matches depending on the region. in cs u play non stop bc there r non stop events.
for internationals i can slightly c your reasoning but its double elim for playoffs. cs is single elim where if u fk up once u r done for that event. tbh for cs too there only like 4 events a yr that everyone cares bout (2 majors, katowice and cologne). for fnc, they fk up both their games vs fut and gen g.

The only league that Ik that lets teams pick their opponents in playoffs is the lck and its only the top seed. The only time that it failed was when KT picked T1 last summer xdd. T1 beat KT initially and in the lower bracket and eventually won worlds xdd. the memes were hilarious bc of this. With that being said, I hope fpx make it through and face 100t and fpx wins just for the memes.
