Genuine worst bait I've ever seen on VLR. As soon as he called Dallas a major everyone knows he's trolling.

Genuine worst bait I've ever seen on VLR. As soon as he called Dallas a major everyone knows he's trolling.
I think Starladder Berlin 2019 was pretty dead too, there was no way Astralis weren't getting that trophy. Only fun part was the Avangar Cinderella run with the selfless Sanji winning my heart
Yeah, but NiKo and Nexa have both a long history of IGLing too, in fact Nexa was previously IGL for G2.
Hooxi feels like you just have an assistant coach in the server because he won't hit shots but he'll be mid rounding decently enough that NiKo, Hunter and M0nesy will hit their shots easily.
Yeah I know, I'm not really talking to him, just the people who will end up reading the thread potentially.
You can't really talk to fake flaggers
I don't remember that major much but I think it's because it was so clear who was winning from the start. Not many highlight storylines as a result for me
I would like to believe it's bait, but VLR is the single stupidest place I've visited on the internet.
This shit is the Tumblr of eSports forums.
I think it's the game being different too, OXY is a Val duelist, his role is to hunt and kill people in straight up duels, he is not expected to do a lot with his Util other than create immediate space/damage.
M0nesy is a CS awp so he has to plan out his rotations and util a lot so that he can get the most chances at firing off a shot without getting caught out, he's more likely to be independent on the map rather than surrounded by supporting util.
I didn't even realise it's the old The Guard core and it shines through now with their resiliency. Truly a case of rebranding making people forget who they are, The Guard always felt pretty respected.
My guy hasn't watched CS tournaments before. PGL Stockholm had the most insanely hyped crowd. IEM Sydney's we're fucking hilarious to with fans chanting and randomly doing a shoey
Somehow G2 keeps being slept on, especially by NA I'm noticing. They look better than 100T. It feels like people only give G2 their flowers when they have already win rather than when they're going into a game.
In all fairness he probably is the closest though. He just has to keep up the level of play for a decent length of time.
The trouble with repeating M0nesy's career is you have to be a prodigy at 13 and be groomed for 5 years to replace the best player in the world then play for another team because the worlds best just refused to retire or fall off.
People forget that Stewie was so shit EG rebuilt a team around Nealan instead of keeping Stewie.
Nealan being a Tier 3/4 EU IGL playing in shit like Malta Vibes and CCT.
The tournament has just highlighted how insane allowing an org to have M0nesy and NiKo play together is.
Considering the only tier 1 CS player who came to Valorant was Ethan and the guy won a Champs I think you're a little bit retarded.
Every other CS pro who came to Valorant was washed in CS. Stewie included is washed, he was subbing for Hooxi, a guy who doesn't even have to go even on KD and the team wins because NiKo ans M0nesy are that damn good.
Tldr, with NiKo, Hunter and M0nesy's performance this tournament even SkRossi could have won a trophy.
He was subbing for a team with 2 top 10 players. They could have won with Hooxi too and he's literally a block of wood with a gun attached.
Definitely some nuance to it, he didn't get the nickname Ratzam for no reason. But people did just keep on at him forever. Kind of excessive
I want the hilarity of Heretics winning with a sub or PRX finally claiming a trophy tbh.
A FUT Cinderella run would be great too
I just checked and damn you weren't kidding. Other than World's and MSI LoL viewership is crazy low. It's lower than Tier 3 CS tournaments somehow.
I guess I just always assumed LoL had insane viewership in general but it's more extreme peaks and troughs.
I'm living for a FUT Cinderella arc tbh
FUT are chaos made flesh. If they should win they will lose, if they should have no chance in hell they will somehow eke out a victory.
TH in all fairness looked great last match.
It's less about Fnatic's chances of winning the same match and more everyone was glazing 100T saying they wouldn't drop a map.
Now they're in the losers bracket.
That sounds so dead it's unreal. I always thought LoL was pretty active. Maybe they do so few events to drive viewership when it is on?
He looks like the dad from Peppa Pig. I can't unsee it
I was just thinking I don't think I've seen a Guardian ace before
That's fair, PRX might just be in their heads from the start. But PRX in general has a good record against all regions pretty sure.
He could just point at himself, he looks like the dad from Peppa Pig
GenG atm look scarier than 100T, surely you'd want the easier match.
I don't know if it makes them the strongest but I very much respect it. Tbf Brazil, Korea, Japan and Turkey seem to make a lot of teams of 5 or 4+1 nationality wise.
EMEA, SEA, LATAM are all by their nature really intermixed in their regions and other than LATAM have huge issues with language barriers between their potential player base.
Canada and USA are basically one country anyway so makes sense they mix in all their teams.
It's even funnier with his shit moustache. Just shave man.
Imo FUT are just scrappy. They always make a meal of a win and when they lose it's like they aren't even in the server.
The 100t match it looked like they hadn't even logged on. I think their coach didn't prep well at all
This match GenG look like they came ready off the bat
CS doesn't have franchising. Some tournament orgs allow partnered teams, so consistently good teams or orgs with big viewership can ensure an invite, some may even auto them past the first group stage. But that's the biggest extent of it.
It has never applied to Majors.
They'll still be playing against teams or any tier of they manage to qualify for the event.
It's not like the Valorant closed circuit
It doesn't even remove Open Qualifiers as a whole, just removes them from direct qualification. You have to qualify and make another event and do well enough to justify bringing them into the RMR. Cinderella runs are just a little harder but when they happen they should be of a better quality.
I highly advise you don't. Valorant is probably the most unpredictable eSport, you're just asking to lose money
How does English not even seem like it's your first language
This is exactly how Valorant has felt for me. It was promising early on, people still working out the kinks, now whenever a desk is talking about "meta comps or setups" it sounds like made up hype and analysis. Games feel more like scrims and throwing the kitchen sink to see what sticks than anything heavily thought out. There will be the occasional util combo that's clearly been thought of specifically for retakes or stopping rushes, but everything outside of that doesn't seem pre-planned as a protocol
Raze is my biggest issue at the moment, the showstopper is just a free round the majority of the time because it just removes a player from the round. How is that any sort of "tactical shooter".
What's inconsistent about Dallas? Other than 9z upsetting and catching Mouz lacking because Mouz Torszi has been on somewhat of a mini break I don't really see any inconsistencies other than I guess BIG looks like they might be back.
Playoffs are always just the quarter finals onward. That is exactly how tournaments should be made, there are more than enough matches prior for you to get your form up and utilise the benefit of the extra chance. When it's the playoffs there shouldn't be chances for mistakes, you should have everything tightened up.
Tier 2 in CS is way more competitive and closer true, but their consistency is always the issue, they could win or they may just crumble whereas Tier 1 teams are very consistent. It helps that CS has an insane number of teams and orgs and it's not until you get to Tier 3 that teams aren't big names with a decent budget that may not attend every major event.
Also everyone fares about Blast and EPL. They're 2 of the biggest events of the year, blast world finals is one of the biggest paying events alongside majors and EPL practically decides your invitations to loads of other events as invitations are normally based on ESL team ranking.
I really think Valorant fucked up with Franchising, I get that it was early, but it's been 2 years now of only 3 events a year, no Tier 2 really to speak of and over half of the franchised teams don't seem to even try to improve so what's the point in watching them.
That's literally what makes Valorant more boring for me. When everything is constantly changing there isn't much point getting invested as nothing is going to stay the same. The quality of gameplay falls off a cliff too considering the game is mostly smoke spam and free kills from showstoppers or equivalent util you don't have to put much effort into.
I'd really like to see Valorant stop changing things for a full year and let teams actually play around and perfect things somewhat. As it is it feels like there is no reward for a team investing in finding comps for highly involved characters when you can take less involved characters and get the same results with way less effort or thought put into it.
In all fairness people like CS because of the consistency of the game. Valve doesn't fuck over their eSports scene every few months by rebalancing things everyone uses and introducing yet another piece of utility that everyone now needs to adjust for. In CS the best teams are consistently good for a long time, in Valorant one update, agent addition or weapon rebalance completely changes the team rankings.
Most CS tournaments are double elim. Single elim is extremely rare. Also you're forgetting EPL and Blast World Finals are both huge events. Normally there will be one or 2 good IEMs also.
Tier 2/3 CS is insanely busy compared to Tier 1 as well. I remember when Gambit Youngsters were playing 20 maps a week for over 3 months. This is just before they broke into T1.
NGL last tournament I enjoyed was lockin
Damn you're really upset at people enjoying matches.
Babysasuke was screaming about lockin being a fluke all of last year and complaining about chronicle non stop. Chronicle won Tokyo and asked him where he was on the forums.
That's like saying Skrossi is rent free because he got turned into a meme
Imo he should work on playing a sentinel and have Jett as an option if they want to play an Aggro comp. You can still op well on most sentinels.
Someone else should definitely be primary duelist tho, cNed was insane because of Jett and Op being perfect for him. As both have been merged and counters added to the game it's clearly going to mean he has to adapt
Honestly I blame the IGL and Coach more than anything. They've looked lost both playoff matches.
You can't just rely on aim diffing if you're always getting double peeked or stun peeked.
Tbf he never recovered from Chronicle calling him out last year.
