i understand ur point but many of the same criticisms were raised around 32 teams, saying it would be really difficult and impossible, but imo the lockin format wasnt that bad and was alright.
maybe they could do it during the off season instead? I mean i dont really know future offseason plans but the last offseason (5 months long) definitely could've had it in there. I agree that taking away one of the masters for the year is pretty stupid.
which is true yes, but to be honest the placements are what people expected of the rosters. I don't think any team really went on a run that was unexpected. most rosters that people assumed would be good (barring liquid lmfao) were actually good.
invite all of the franchised teams, single elim again, maybe in a year or two so we can get more teams.
despite criticism to the format, lockin was a great tournament imo. the fact that every initial match had to be an international matchup made so that bottom feeder teams could still be seen internationally.

small feature most people dont know about, but if you go to any of the leagues any select valorant champions tour 2024, you can click standings and see champ points for all teams. however, it has not been updated so it would be nice if they were so i dont have to check liquipedia or anything like that :3

I too liked last year's format a lot, but it really only worked because there was only 1 international to qualify for, since lockin had everyone.
4th slot of champs is up to champ points, and whoever has the most qualifies for the 4th slot
