Hot take but I think he is bit overrated. You would imagine he is competiting for best player in the world title by how some talk about him.
Lock In > Reykjavik 22 any day of the week. Reykjavik 22 was the biggest mickey mouse VCT event there was. Even Zeta made it to top 3.
Better be shit than be shit with imports taking half of the spots
but at least we can acknowledge both shit vs Korean and China
LoL came out 10 years ago and still the goat of esports and not even close.
Not sure because first tournament, but I think people are sleeping on Liquid a bit. Keiko is the truth.
I have Steelseries Apex Pro that isn't as good as Wooting, but pretty similar. Stopping instantly while releasing the key is a feature some keyboard including mine and Wooting have. But overall I haven't noticed any clear difference and I think its pretty overrated feature for most people. Ofc its nice that you can change settings and make keyboard feel bit different and fit you. But it might feel different to you.
First Europe doesn't have 100+ countries.
Secondly do you realize how big country like US is? USA alone has the population of UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Sweden combined (+Canada of like 38 million). To compare whole Northern Europe -UK (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia) has the combined population of around 30.7 million.
Berlin 2021
Champions 2021
Copenhagen 2022
Lock/In 2023
Tokyo 2023
= 2
Who knows how the gaming industry looks in 2 years. Could be extra +$10 for every game. And even Take-Two's CEO (who own Rockstar) said in a interview how videogames are cheap for what you get. So all things considered I wouldn't be surprised if its minimum +$10 of current triple A prices if not even more. And they are likely going to push their subscription service especially for online.
Not really. They will make bank on release date even if it was Nintendo Switch exclusive. And everytime they release it on new platform its going to make them a lot of money. That happened with GTA V on Xbox 360/PS4, PS4/Xbox One, PC and even PS5/Xbox Series X. The amount of copies they've sold is crazy and by splitting the releases they are actually selling even more. And when there's next gen consoles aren't coming out in years they are likely going to do it with first with current consoles and then PC and then later on next gen consoles etc.
I mean GTA world has always been full of irony, stereotypes, darker humor etc stuff that is part of the franchise's core. And overall craziness, silliness and not taking itself too seriously and overall not just giving a fuck. And nowadays most studios and companies are so careful with everything because there's always someone getting offended or they are too scared of article made by some of these very people. Impossible to tell from one trailer alone, but it looks like they aren't changing that at least not too noticiably and its a good thing. A lot has changed since 2013.
Any confirmation for this? Took 2 years before GTA V got released on PC and 1 year for RDR2. That's the thing they will get shit ton of money from whoever "partners" up with them (likely Sony) and they know they would make crazy money from console versions alone because there's many who would just buy the console to play this single game, and then just release it on PC in year or two and make shit ton of money again. I highly doubt they will release it on all platforms at same time. Both GTA V and RDR2 had major releases twice and they are going to chase that bag.
2026 for us PC gamers....
but trailer looks great and has that GTA vibe to it and I was bit scared they would change because of the current year.
N4rrate not even best on his team
People always talk how this and that choked or underperformed in events EMEA wins, but always ignore that EMEA teams are Champs chokers. Fnatic form was worse than in Tokyo. Same with FPX in Champs 22.
Lock/In top 8: NRG, LOUD, DRX, TLN, NAVI, LEV, 100T and FNC. Outside of couple I wouldn't call that micky mouse.
Too early to tell, but Ardiis is the key. If it wasn't for him they would have been playing Deadlock. He keeps team in check and maintains good mental.
I hope DACH and Polaris merged even if that left some out of the league. League of like Apeks, Fokus, CGN, MOUZ, SK Gaming would be cool af, and would mean that both would count for that 3 from region rule and some of the teams could be really good.
tbf NaVi is good team
He wont switch full time but would be good for EU Valorant because he is like tarik but for CS
Buzz cut suited him for sure and overall cuts that aren't that tall or fluffy. But he is not bad looking dude so anything suits
Just bottom row on both, easy. Anything else would just be upset. Zeta could win vs Bleed.
Oh yeah for some reason remembered Leosen playing controller not sure why. But I think someone like Bati as the likely IGL could switch to controller.
Actually pretty decent team if they want to play in DACH
Achievement wise he might very well be. People really underestimate how much he has achieved. Played on "top" since 2020 and has led teams to multiple good placement regionally and internationally and is still the IGL of arguably the best team in the world. Even before Leo and Chronicle he was doing really well with guys like Mistic, Magnum, braveaf and Enzo. Often looking like the favorites and even if they failed to win they still managed to place high almost every tournament.
Yeah but were good whole of 2021. Year they won the Champions and year that actually matters. Anyone who says otherwise didn't watch EMEA at all only base their opinion on their shitty Masters 3 run and 2022.
True but tbf Ender's usual style is bit different so not only stylist thing.
This. People usually forget that Boaster has been leading succesful teams since 2020/2021. The fact that he and Fnatic have consistently been top EMEA team with good international placements and even 2 VCT international LAN victories this year is crazy (SUMN FC was also good pre-VCT). And like you said Boaster teams have been some of the most influencal teams in Valorant esport, and based on everything said Boaster seems to have big impact on strats etc.
Boaster, Saadhaak, ANGE1 and FNS are easy top 4. (not in order).
For 5th spot there's a lot of options.
PRX has really different style to many other teams and especially the difference between PRX and team like NRG last season/before is massive.
Oh yeah that is true. Haven't watched much of him, but from litle he seemed cracked and stats always good. Young and unsigned as well. School is bit of a stopping block tho.
Good core. I still think that Molsi's potential is really good, but sadly just didn't seem to find footing on Vitality and underperformed. Both Soulcas and Avova have been pretty inconsistent and especially Avova pretty washed for some time, but I think their experience will shine in tier 2 and really hope it can give them some confidence and bounce back. Guy like Soulcas could really benefit from trip to tier 2 because he felt bit unconfident.
Filling last 2 spots are going to be exciting though. Hear me out: Click as duelist.
MAD KOI(or Koi) would be pretty cool name
Don't know does it count as lesser known but Low Roar for me. They got recognition from having songs in Death Stranding game. Sadly the main singer passed away year ago.
new earbuds (nothing ear 2 or liberty 4, haven't decided yet)
vpn subscription
affinity photo 2 (like photoshop)
low profile mic stand
smart band (mi band 7)
Nivera would have been good pick. Not on smokes, because of starxo but Nivera on sentinel + Sheydos back to initiator would have been so good. And about Scream... I know its recency bias, but I actually prefer Kamo for now. Scream is still really good(if he isn't IGLing), but he is pretty old for esport average already and he isn't super future proof and in the past has caused some issues like with his potential inability to work well with IGLs. Kamo is young and also way cheaper for KOI.
I'm not saying he will start falling off, but point is that we've seen players doing really well and then just being ok next season. And I think that guy like Demon1 has had such short time in tier 1 that I wouldn't be 100% sure he can keep looking as good as this season, especially on a new team. I think he will do well, but this is also point you could make about any player and especially ones switching teams.
Reminds to be seen. Questions I have:
How is the IGLing? - can make a big difference when facing top teams. And overall looking at old NRG it felt like the IGLing was big part of their success and overall style.
Roles? - no proven sentinel player, so Victor likely switching. And what if they need Raze and sentinel? Ethan? Demon1?
Demon1 and Ethan - hot take, but I think there's a chance they won't perform as well outside of EG. Demon1 was nobody before this year and even though its possible he will continue doing well I'm still not fully confident he will do as well. And same about Ethan, because even though he has been decent since 100T he never was really a standout player before EG(obviously his teams didn't do so well). Like see what happened to old Sentinels and Acend for example.
no forsen for 4 days... hopefully he is fine :(
but crazy theory but I think its possible they are getting a child and that's why he's been offline.
He had good Champions 22 performance though. At least impactful one.
Problem is that the last Liquid roster just clearly wasn't working. They had their highs, but for most of the season they were really off and anyone looking at their games could see that. Never felt like well functioning team that could consistently win. Doesn't really matter how good players you have on paper if the team just isn't working.
This new roster on paper is weaker ofc, but they brought in core of 3 who are all solid and especially Keiko has shit ton of potential. And even individually speaking I don't think Mistic/Enzo will do any worse than Soulcas/Redgar. Only duelist is clear downgrade on paper. On paper the new team seems way more functional because of existing core who were performing consistenly well even if it was in tier 2. And one of the outside-looking-in clear problems of Redgar's and Sayf's inability to work together is removed and they kept both nAts and Jamppi who not only are good individually, but also seem good for good team mental.
