APAC Playoffs Edition: Group B

Back at it again, with the grind. Exciting thread this time.

In this thread, I'll be writing a detailed and complete analysis of the teams in Group B of Apac Playoffs (Group Stage), based on recent performances. Opinions may differ.

Group B would probably be the crowd's favorites. Not gonna lie, I am excited to watch this group. A titan from MY/SG, stacked veterans from ID, and a streaker killer team from OCE. I'll tell you guys what I've found.

  1. Paper Rex
I've met so many PRX fans so far, and I understand why they are that great. First place in MY/SG Stage 1 Challengers this year, 5 times champions in the region, without LOSING A FUCKING MAP. I knew about this fact and yet this still blows my mind. Last year, they qualified for Master Berlin, however, didn't make it far. They also played in APAC LCQ while playing the new addition, Jinggg, to replace shiba. They managed to beat the Indian powerhouse, Global Esports, before having an upset against NORTHEPTION and DAMWON. Then, they also played in several tournaments (4th place in Royal SEA and won TEC Showdown).

    • f0rsakeN = Duelist. Young prodigy with the highest ACS in MY/SG, with 293.2 ACS. In last year's qualifiers, he has a 300.7 ACS. What else should I explain about this man????
    • Jinggg = Flex. Newest member and also a young gifted player. Also has insane ACS (just look at his profile).
    • d4v41 = Mixed role (Chamber or Initiators). A well-rounded player that has an aggressive playstyle, and is a dependable teammate.
    • mindfreak = Controller. A smart and calm player who has been improving a lot lately.
    • Benkai = Sentinel. Best troller from SEA and 5head entrances. A veteran with a lot of experience and is a perfect IGL for the team.
As I said, they haven't lost a single map this year. They have a 100% win rate in all maps (here). Also, they've been messing around with their agent comp lately (and It's funny because they still won either way).
I swear I'll be clenching my ass watching this team
  2. BWL - now Persija Esports
Indonesia's one and only no org team (not anymore) that swept through ID Stage 1 Challengers, placing in second. They won against Alter Ego and ONIC, however, lost to BOOM in the GF. and It's amazing to see that they are more successful now, rather than back when they were still in Orgs. This is their first tournament together as a team, yet they look so strong. This is what happens when you put a bunch of veterans together.

    • Famouz = Flex/Duelist (and Chamber sometimes). He has the highest ACS in Indonesia, with 267.1 ACS. He's been playing so well this year and quite consistent.
    • Flynch = Duelist. Well rounded player, however, not really consistent based on his recent matches.
    • Asteriskk = Controller. As an experienced player, he is really smart and aggressive.
    • Eeyore = Sentinel. He has been improving a lot lately, and really well-rounded.
    • roseaufy = Initiator. A flexible player with a mixture of calm and aggressive playstyle. However, his ACS is lower compared to his teammates
Really strong in Bind, Icebox, and Ascent. Meanwhile, relatively weaker in Split (here). They often use a double duelist meta, however, they may use a different agent comp in the near future.
I honestly like this team, but it's unlucky that they got grouped with scary opponents
  3. Bonkers
At this point, who doesn't know this team. The no org that won against the team with a cool logo and a crazy 22-win streak. I know I am wearing their flair, but I assure you that I'll only spit facts, no bias. This team is relatively new, however, they had competed in tournaments last year. This year, in the VOT, they managed to qualify for the group stage and showed a splendid performance. In the playoffs, even though they got to the lower bracket early, they managed to sweep through to the grand finals against ORDER. At that time, most people were sure that ORDER will win the tournament. In a surprising twist, Bonkers won (yay), deserving their spot in APAC Playoffs. Fyi, NiceHacks sadly couldn't secure a travel passport in time and the team will be using Nozz, as mentioned in here. Nozz will not be replacing NiceHacks' duelist role and the team will change some of their roles, so I cannot give much info about their meta.

    • Minimise = Dedicated player and IGL with huge potentials. a chad VLR.gg user if you ask me.
    • tixx = As mentioned by skrawl, he is a well-performed player. A dependable player that his team can rely on.
    • skrawl = Best Sova player in OCE (arguable). An experienced player with a lot of impact on the team.
    • Nozz = I don't have much info about him. Based on some clips, he is pretty cracked.
    • rDeeW = An OCE star player that strengthens the team. He is really flexible as he can play a lot of agents.
Out of all maps, Fracture is probably their weakest with only 43% win rate, and it's surprising to see that they've never played in Ascent nor Split in the VOT (here). They definitely have been using a wide variety of agents, but I wonder how will it be in the APAC Playoffs since they will change roles.
As a fan, I'm literally sweating because I might be wrong in some of the research (Forgive me for my preposterous behavior as a Bonkers fan)

And as usual, best of luck to all teams!

Bonus!

APAC Playoffs Edition: Group A

Yes, it's me again. Don't you dare get bored of my writings.

In this thread, I'll be writing a detailed and complete analysis of the teams in Group A of Apac Playoffs (Group Stage), based on recent performances. Opinions may differ. Enjoy :)

Now that the groups have been revealed, I've been so excited in researching every team. So, I'll tell you guys what I've found.

  1. BOOM
First place in Indonesia Stage 1 Challengers, had a decent run last year, and they do have a lot of fans. Last year, they qualified for Stage 3: SEA Playoffs, however, they didn't make it that far. They also qualified for APAC LCQ but resulted in the same. After some roster changes (removing NcSlasher, Eeyore, Asteriskk, and adding BerserX, tehbotoL, frostmind), their performance increased. With this new roster, they won first place in Royal SEA and placed second in SEA EC.

    • BerserX = Duelist. Second highest ACS in Indonesia Challengers, with 260.6 ACS. He is a talented young (18-19 y.o) player, who keeps improving over the past months.
    • fl1pzjder = Flex (and Chamber on certain maps). Fifth highest ACS in Indonesia Challengers, with 244.7 ACS. He also used to play as the duelist and he was quite cracked, but it seems they decided to change his role (and it's working out really well)
    • blaZek1ng = MIxed role (mainly uses Sova though). He's the longest BOOM member, and is generally a smart guy.
    • tehbotoL = Controller. He has a relatively calm play style and is pretty dependable for his team.
    • frostmind = Sentinel. A well-rounded player, who constantly keeps the hype of the team.
They have fixed agent comps in each map, and it seems they just keep sticking to it. They also have a perfect streak in Ascent (100% win rate) and promising results in the other maps (here)
So far, they've been consistent with their results and It's exciting to see what this team can prove in the group.
  2. MiTH
Some of you may haven't heard of this team, while maybe some do. MiTH is one of the earliest Org to have a VALORANT roster in Thailand, back in 2020. However, they kind of 'disappeared' during 2021. So, it's surprising to see that they are back this year. They barely qualified from the Thailand Challengers Group Stage, yet surprisingly managed to beat 47 Gaming and Team NKT (It's surprising because both teams were showing incredible performances in the group stage). You could say that they are the underdog from Thailand.

    • Kadoom = Duelist. Pretty consistent based on his recent matches, and also pretty good with an OP.
    • wannafly = Sentinel. I know that he's been competing in this game since 2020. He can play a lot of roles, but I guess he keeps his role as a Sentinel this time.
    • AloNeFillz = Initiator. Watching his gameplay, I noticed that he is flexible and a team player.
    • kongared = MIxed roles (mostly initiator). He has been on the same team as wannafly since 2020. Skill-wised, he is well-rounded with an aggressive playstyle.
    • Delend = Controller. I noticed that this guy is pretty smart in positioning and map awareness.
They still lack experience, specifically, in competing against other teams in APAC. Their agent comp is also fixed, however, they don't have the stats that I was expecting (here)
This team looks really convincing, yet they are still lacking in a lot of ways.
  3. CERBERUS
The best team in Vietnam since last year. But what about in APAC? Well, they are down bad. Then, they continued to participate in other tournaments, yet showed disappointing results (disqualified early in KJC Invitational and SEA EC). Even so, they are still one of the best in Vietnam. Throughout these events, they picked up Redneval to replace Daicute momentarily. After a while, they decided to play him again, while subbing Suka. This year, they managed to keep their title by winning Challengers Stage 1 Vietnam.

    • Redneval = Duelist. The guy has a pretty high ACS, understandable since he is an aggressive player with good aim. However, he can be too aggressive and makes his own plays sometimes.
    • Daicute = Sentinel (mostly Chamber). Used to play as the duelist, now plays the chamber most of the time and it is perfect for him.
    • Kishi = Initiator. A flexible player that can play most Initiator agents and is dependable.
    • Lok1 = Controller. A patient and smart player, most confident in Astra.
    • Akashi = Initiator (Sova main). He is a hardcore Sova main but his ACS is the worst out of the team (idk why).
So far, strong in maps, such as Ascent and Haven. Uses the same agent most of the time (Jett, Chamber, and Sova), so that is worrisome. (here). They are a strong team in Vietnam yet somehow have a huge disadvantage with the other APAC teams. After watching some clips, I think that they tend to rely on individual performances, rather than team play.
I just hope this year, they will show a better performance.

As usual, Best of luck to all teams!

If you guys want, I'll do a "How every team in Group Stage can qualify for Masters". I know that we haven't seen who will qualify from the play-in so I'll only talk about the other teams. So that includes XERXIA, SBE, BOOM, PRX, MiTH, NAOS, BWL, BLEED, CERBERUS, OF, VLT, and Bonkers (since there are so many teams, I'll divide it into 4 threads according to their groups).

APAC Playoffs Edition: Who is most likely to qualify in APAC Play-in for each group

I'm back😠, I will be continuing from this thread since the groups have been revealed. This time I'll be covering each teams' chances (statistically), so opinions may differ.

As of today, Valorant has announced the VCT APAC group draws. In case, you are too lazy to open the link, the Play-in groups are:
Group A: BAAM (VN), ONIC (ID), Full Sense (TH), and Action PH (PH)
Group B: Griffin (HK/TW), Fancy United (VN), No Namers (SG/MY), and Global Esports (SA)

What are the chances of each team qualifying?
Group A will be a banger, meanwhile, Group B is quite predictable.

GROUP A

  1. BAAM

    • Nhatthong2k and nTK are players to be watched, although, they are not the most consistent based on recent matches.
    • 100% win rate in Icebox (running a double sentinels meta or sometimes double duelists), meanwhile, decent in Haven (60%). It's still too early to tell whether they are good or bad in the other maps since they've only played it a few times. (here)
    • As I mentioned in my last thread, I'm not so confident about this team. Compared to other teams in the group, they have low chances of qualifying.
  2. ONIC

    • Monyet, the main duelist, has the 3rd highest ACS in Indonesia. This team, most of the time, uses a double initiator meta. However, it seems that they keep sticking to their meta and never tried to change even one agent in their composition (can be seen here).
    • So far, they are good in Icebox and Haven (both 75% win rate), however, still early to judge in their other maps.
    • A strong team with experience, they have a decent chance to qualify
  3. Full Sense

    • JohnOlsen, the main duelist, also has a high ACS. This team has been pretty consistent if you count out the loss against XERXIA.
    • They've been showing convincing win rates in their recent matches.
    • I can't really talk much about this team, they've been so good so far. If they don't throw, pretty much a 100% chance to qualify.
  4. Action PH

    • Georggyyy, also has a high ACS and has been quite consistent (according to recent matches). Pretty much use the same agent comp, but I noticed that they've been trying some new things (maybe).
    • Compared to other maps, APH is probably the weakest in Haven (45% win rate). Even so, they have a decent win rate in other maps. (here)
    • Huge potential from this team. Talking about chances, they are on equal terms with ONIC (arguable).

GROUP B

  1. Griffin

    • Attention and SiuFatBB are probably the most to be concerned from this team. Griffin is the most unique team out of all teams because their roles differ in each map (it's actually crazy, just take a look at this)
    • Ascent is probably their weakest, meanwhile, pretty decent in Haven and Split. Can't really judge their other maps yet. (here)
    • Barely has a chance, but can surprise us. Who knows?
  2. Fancy United

    • K1LLERS, the main duelist, has been pretty good so far but inconsistent, especially in the last match against CERBERUS. They are smart in their agent picks, but still looks shaky.
    • 100% win rate in Split and pretty decent in other maps. (here)
    • Taking my time in researching about them is boring KEKW, I don't know much about them. But hey, at least they are technically better than BAAM right now. In my opinion, they are on equal terms with NN (arguable)
  3. No Namers

    • Based on recent ACS, Vera and Tempz are pretty decent. Uses the same agent comp in every map, so far. Nothing much interesting about their agent comp.
    • Pretty strong on Ascent, meanwhile, decent in others. They have convincing win rates if you ask me. (here)
    • Probably on equal terms with Fancy United (arguable)
  4. Global Esports

    • SkRossi and Lightningfast are the top 5 players with the highest ACS in VCC, 4th and 5th respectively. They always try something new in their agent comp, but they always stick to the same roles (most of the time use a double initiator meta).
    • Based on statistics, they are mediocre in Haven, meanwhile pretty strong in other maps. (here)
    • fuck this shit

Best of luck to all teams!

dude, group A of play-in is deadly, meanwhile, group B is...

What I heard is that only new patches will be used (agents patches), though I'm still unsure.

Honestly, even if they used the new icebox, probably will be banned by every team.
