DREAM RUNNERS (mystery/phycological/thriller)
A man finds himself immersed in extraordinarily vivid dreams, as if they stretch on for hours. Amidst the reverie, he becomes an unwitting witness to a botched robbery in the heart of Los Angeles, resulting in a tragic murder. From his vantage point across the road, he flees the scene, but only manages to cover a few blocks before stumbling upon a group of police officers. Eager to share the harrowing incident, he recounts the events in detail, his urgency compelling them to act swiftly. However, rather than questioning him, the authorities promptly initiate their investigation.
After a string of subsequent peculiar occurrences, though lacking violence, the man awakens, bewildered by the length and realism of his dream. Remaining motionless in bed, he contemplates the surreal experience for a few fleeting moments. His confusion intensifies when the first news report of the day reveals an eerily similar robbery and murder, taking place on a street that mirrors the one he traversed within his dream. Perceiving it as an astonishing coincidence, he dismisses the uncanny connection and proceeds with his daily routine.
An uneventful day at the office follows, and upon returning home, the man attends to his evening rituals. As he settles onto the couch, he belatedly realizes he forgot to switch off the television. The news captivates his attention, disclosing additional details about the unfolding case. Surveillance footage, captured by CCTV cameras, is released to elicit public assistance in identifying the suspect. A surge of astonishment courses through him as the camera lens zooms in on the faces of both the assailant and the victim, for they are identical to the ones he encountered within his dream. Transfixed, his initial shock transmutes into a mingling of fear and bewilderment when a man on the opposite side of the road comes into focus. The camera implores the public to identify this mysterious bystander, and the man on the couch utters a mind-bending exclamation, "It's me!"
A cascade of questions engulfs his mind. How could he be certain he was dreaming, when reality seems to converge with his nocturnal visions? As a resident of San Francisco, residing six hours away from Los Angeles, how did he become intricately entangled in this unfolding drama? Is the figure captured by the camera genuinely him, or does a doppelganger haunt the streets of LA, granting him a voyeuristic window into their world through his dreams? The answers lie shrouded in mystery, and the man embarks on a journey to unravel the enigma, setting the stage for the captivating tale called DREAM RUNNERS.
