sideshow mention in the video that Saudi owns 40%+ of the esport scene which is extremely concerning.
watched the whole video now sideshow is making a fair point and hes been consistent on this. anyone having 44% of anything is not good. i think there are more pros to this event than cons but some cons are pretty important such as not being able to criticize and human rights issue. i just feel overall community is very hypocrite on this. saudi arabaia is bad but US is equally bad. i never see people talking about boycotting us event. the risk in us where you can potentially get shot by anyone is just scary to me. US is currently commiting catastrophies and human right violation in multiple places not just one. US never need to sportwash because the average people ignore their crimes.i agree with sideshow points and we need to raise our voice so we can stop human rights violation in both US and KSA. humans lifes are invaluable. i tried to keep this out of politics as much i can. hopefully i dont get banned for shit talking US and Saudi.
sea is the most financially vulnerable but they are probably least expensive to operate in the scene so they are probably gonna be fine in term of financial. overall it will significantly increase growth for pacific. i think your underestimating apac market . apac will have the same amount of viewership as emea.
for east asia the it will be 5 korean , 4 jp and 1 russian organization. japan can sustain the east asia league by themselves and this will speedup the growth for the korean scene. fans want to see their players more play in the bigger stage and this will give the best chance for japan to qualify for a international league so i dont think japan popularity will drop off and Korea doesn't have much popularity currently to drop off and it can only increase.
i mean many people do think that and that is more likely to happen than this because of the last distance between north america and latam. also americas is more fair now because 53% comes from north america awhile 44% comes from latam.
"The amount of talents sitting in Korean and Japanese tier 2 is crazy" this is the reason why i think making a another region will help them more. also 2 apac team and 2 korean team went to champs so the distribution of 2 east asia and rest of asia isnt crazy. this will help rest of asia growth and their viewership number will tremendously increase.
it should be 2-2 like this year champ was 2 from korea and 2 from apac
45% of the league is koreans. spg has looked insanely strong overall and many believe they can make champs which will guarantee their stay in pacific. the korean talents are not slowing down as well so they can get the 12th spot as well. i think in future russia ( they can choose which region they wanna play ), korea and japan should be one league and rest of the pacific in one league. this will allow thai indonesia and potentially indian subcontinent viewership to grow more.
champ is the most important event of the year also kangkang already performed good even when his team was doing absolute trash. i am okay with him being number one.
