i felt the same way before. i think eventually they want to integrate them but if gc has these huge prize pools it would be better to just be in gc
if theyre not in groups maybe they got a free bye to the grand final? it would be fitting for how good they are
i dont think its a big issue, definitely makes gc less relevant but the teams can still join open quals for tier 2. i think at most what they can do is put top gc teams in promotion/relegation automatically but thats not much different
even worse than last, i dont like their whole branding anyway tho
