bro drx lost to yay like a billion times
DRX has also improved severly since 2021 champs
4 X 8 groups
16 qualifys AND THEN we do single elimination
rare G2ShahZam W
Winner of C9 and DRX
OR
Winner of SEN and FNC
OR
Winner of navi vs TL
Solo, peri - coach for dplus, I think they are ok coach, but bail and termi are better
allow - could be really good if he performs well but there are better jetts than him in korea
lakia - I think he is still pretty good, and franchised team like T1 could use him or maybe dfm idk
suggest - I saw no impact from him this tournament so i think he is washed
BBL looked better than prx IF drx is better than C9

favourites coming into LOCK IN
EU
Team liquid- they have been in T1 valorant scene for a long time, but has yet to reach high places. BUT, coming into 2023, they said bye to scream, nivera and dimasick, and got nats, redgar and sayf. This is a big upgrade, as the new players are considered to be better than older players in their corresponding roles (maybe not scream). Redgar is considered a major upgrade from scream in terms of IGLing, so they are expected to reach high places, and I personally expect them to reach finals. However, they would need to beat navi in their second round, which brings me to the next team, navi.
Navi - Although they haven't achieved much in valorant up till 2022, they are considered one of the strongest rosters. Signing the core of FPX from 2022, who was the best emea team 2022 (including 1 title), their abilities are proven. Although their duelist role, ardiis left to nrg, they signed Cned, one of the best jett from 2021. However, it is unknown how well Cned will perform, while they have ange1, who has trouble performing over 150 acs.
Fnatic - Similar to Team liquid, they have achieved much throughout their valorant esports scene, and was often expected to win a title. However, they have dissappointed their fans, by getting grouped in Masters1, 4th in Masters2, and 5-6th in champs. Similar to liquid, they changed their roster coming to 2023, dropping enzo and mistic, while signing chronicle and leo. This is also considered a huge upgrade. However, some people dislike fnatic because of their igl, boaster (they think he is cringe). They will go against Sentinels in their first round, and that match is considered to be one of the best starting matchups.
Americas
there are many favourites throughout americas, but I will list one each from NA, LATAM, BR
1.
NA (SEN) - People who watched valorant in 2021 will know Sentinels without a doubt, who has won the first ever international match in iceland without dropping a single map. However, they fell short in Masters 3 and champions, leading to their downfall in 2023, failing to enter any international events. Coming into 2023, they made severe roster changes, rebuiling based on TENZ!! they signed igl dephh and duelist zekken from xset, sacy and pancada from the 2022 champions, LOUD. Looking at the name values, they are a very strong roster, but from what we've seen from Tarik & ludwig thing, it was disappointing. However, we expect them to have improved, and will make deep runs in 2023.
2.
LATAM (leviathan) - Although an unfamiliar org for 2021, lev has made strong impacts in 2023, qualifying to international events as first LATAM seed, which was originally KRU's. They have made an upgrade coming into 2023, signing Kru’s star, keznit, along with replacing adverso with nzr. TBH I HONESTLY DONT KNOW THAT MUCH ABOUT LEV SORRY BUT MANY PEOPLE LIKE LEV
3.
BR (LOUD) - one of the best team, if not the best from 2022, they are still considered to be strong although the roster is downgraded. Sacy, and pancada (literally top 3 smokes) left to SEN, and was replaced with cauanzin and tuyz, who has not appeared in an international stage so far. I don't follow BR challangers so idk how good they are, but probably is decent. They still kept Aspas, Less and saadahk, which was their duelist, sentinel and igl role, which is considered to be a big change in meta coming to 2023, so i think it's good to have proven players on such roles. Also, if you look at people on this site, 80% of brazilians are LOUD flairs, so yeah
Pacific
DRX - Known as vision strikers in 2021, they were considered to be a good team, but not the best. This viewpoint was changed in 2023, as they were many people's favourite in each interantional event. However, DRX followed the pattern of winning 2 games in a row in groups, winning first game in playoffs and losing twice to coming 5-6th. They got the meme of 5~6th place curse. Champions 2022 followed the same pattern, but this time, they broke the curse and had another win after that, coming third. Optic and LOUD, who performed better than drx in champions relatively weakened, but drx remained same, while adding a duelist (foxy9) who has shown insane aim, upgrading their roster. They are one of the strong candidates for the winner in this event. Many people also like drx cus of stax
Paper Rex- Known to be underdogs in 2021, they changed their reputation coming to 2023, with 4th and 2nd placement in two masters (although they did get grouped in champs). They are many people's favourite because of their aggessive gameplays, new agents (yoru, harbor), and benkai the walkout god. Although not many think they will win the whole thing, they are expected to have deep runs in 2023. Their first matchup will be against C9, the team who just signed yay (one of the best players in the world). This is considered to be one of the hardest first matchups (other is SEN vs FNC)
