The difference between football and esports is that football can be played by anybody, anywhere. You can be piss poor and still have a ball and 2 rocks for a goalpost. That's why you see so many talents come up from the favelas.

For esports, in order to have a big playerbase you need a population with a big middle class, households that can afford computers. Furthermore, you need PC gaming to be popular in contrast to consoles.

Tldr: China, Europe and Korea have the best infastructure for a prospering esports scene. NA ppl are brainlets and Brazilians are catching up.
