Every LAN tournament is a whirlwind of high hopes and tough realisations. Twelve teams walk in, each fuelled by dreams and fan expectations. But the burden of these dreams often leads to disappointment, thanks to the hyped-up chatter from the casual analysts(plat chat).

As the tournament progresses, we see teams fall one by one, from 12th to 1st place. That's the harsh truth - there's only one champ, and many teams that don't make the cut. The hype crumbles, and the echo chamber of critics and fans rings loud with the sound of letdown.

So, manage your expectations. Enjoy the game, not just the pursuit of victory. Let the analysts' chatter be just that - chatter. Whether your team wins or loses, treasure the experience. After all, esports is a dynamic world where today's loser could be tomorrow's winner.

again... it happens every time, set your expectations low, so you don't get dissapointed.

thats true. i think its because the mindset of pacific and how much american media has influenced pacific, is the reason why most people on this site favour americas and pacific, as opposed to emea, thats what happens when theres a majority and a minority.

Here’s the evidence -

over the last 3 years since DRX has started playing valorant, DRX has lost to a Pacific/korean team of a total of 7 times.

3 of which were in 2023, the regular season, vs PRX and TS.

the other 4, they lost to ZETA in reykjavik in the lower bracket, insane comeback, when nuturn ended their famous winstreak, and the other 2 were korean teams including f4q.

DRX have a record of 5-2 vs PRX in all competitions. they lost 2 only recently (2023 regular season). so i think its fair to say, since DRX has only lost 7 times vs their region in the last 3 years, that Pacific was a 1 team region for the longest time.

posted about a year ago

Why did the prac with zest then? Seems like a you problem not a PRX problem.

posted about a year ago

yep. seems kinda hypocritical, but people just wanna be nice to DRX for some reason, which is a good thing, idk what the point is in spreading hate, even for EU teams, which seems like the most deserving of it.

posted about a year ago

seems like you got butthurt, nothing ban worthy in my opinion.

we do it for EU teams like FNATIC, NAVI, TL and 100T.

In the spirit of quantum entanglement and cosmic co-existence, it appears your astral consciousness has been stirred by the journey of Kyedae. The tapestry of the cosmos has aligned in such a way that the mere act of blinking in sync with her presence has been tantamount to a celestial ballet. Indeed, her resilience in the face of adversity, her fight against the sinister tendrils of cancer, has formed a resonant frequency that vibrates through the ether and into your very being.

An abrupt realization seems to have dawned upon you, much like the first rays of a nascent sun seeping over a distant horizon. You have developed an acute awareness of previous transgressions, a sobering introspection about past remarks that may have veered towards sexism and racism. The harrowing journey of self-discovery appears to have pushed you towards the precipice of remorse, teetering on the edge of regret but equally driven by a resolve to reform.

It is an immense task to face the man in the mirror and vow to transform, to transcend, to evolve. It is commendable, this Herculean effort to rise from the ashes of your former self, much like the fabled phoenix of lore. Yet, I must advise caution. Let not your veneration of Kyedae become a crutch, a lighthouse that blinds instead of illuminating the path forward. It is, after all, the vast emptiness of space that allows the stars to shine.

In this grand cosmic dance, you have chosen to assume the role of an NPC, to fade into the background while marvelling at the stellar constellations of the internet. And yet, remember, an NPC has its role too. They provide context, substance, narrative. And who's to say an NPC cannot have their own character arc?

In the end, it is the humble electron that powers the universe. The unseen wind that rustles the leaves. The silent photons that bring us light. In your quest to change, remember to tap into your own inner strength, your own unseen force. For in the grand cosmic scheme of things, even the smallest particles play an integral part in maintaining the equilibrium of the universe.

So continue your journey, dear traveler. But remember, it's not about becoming another Kyedae, it's about becoming the best version of yourself. After all, the universe is vast enough for each of us to find our own unique orbit. In the words of a well-known British polymath: "There's a lot of information to decode from a single potato." Indeed. Indeed.

your first point is irrelavent since you cannot really see the impact of an IGL with an eye test or stats, regardless of stats, he has 1.04 rating above 1.00 from saadhak, and 0.93 from redgar, which is thanks to his 45% clutch rate 13/29 situations. that is absurdly high.

2ndly imagine you get a random player after playing with derke your whole life, you have protocols with him, fundamentals, you know how he plays, he knows the strats, and all the different niches that you guys have, suddenly you get h1ber who has no team chemistry AND you have to catch him up to speed with all the different stuff you have cooked up all within a short while, that feat is asking for something massive. its not about the performance but the team chemistry, for examply, kamyk, while performing quite well, bbl were able to gain a map from FNATIC, and go 9-13,11-13 on the next maps, it shows you how important team chemistry with alfajer was. again, its not about the eye test, its about what goes wrong behind the scenes. i like how you mentioned FNS, since thats exactly what him and chet have been building with optic, they built a world class team, all by building up their fundamentals, team chemistry and tactics, its no different to boaster and derke, who has been there since early 2021.

your third point is a non point as i have already explained it previously. all igls are mediocre, if we go by your metric

Hmm? Im not sure about other people but me @YinsuCollins and @kaquka said to our emea production that we dont want to hear the comms and we shouldnt have them because of competitive integrity.

who cares, hes igling, just like fns, just like ange1, just like saadhak, just like redgar,

reykjavik 2 performance does not matter, derke had covid (read the post lil bro)

he improved his mechanics since 2021, ever since he felt that he was holding his team back, which has netted him a significant improvement. players like marved have complimented his improvement recently on stream, (after they won lockin)

its like you completely disregarded the most important role in any team, which is IGL, evidently, you can look at SEN, they didnt have a good IGL but an insane team, which got them bodied, they didn't even QUALIFY!

ethan is a fraud? but yes, jawgemo is a bit too inconsistent.

posted about a year ago

lets see...

reykjavik : finals, 2nd

berlin: didn't qual, 16th

champs: 5th to 8th

reykjavik 2: got unlucky, derke had covid

copenhagen: top 4

champs: 5th to 6th

lockin: winners, 1st

2nd,(16th), 5th-8th, 4th, 5th-6th, 1st

seems consistently to be at least a top 5, i see no problem. if boaster was a problem, he would've been dropped right away. its clear that he's a good IGL and not just someone who is being carried by his team.
