I agree that correcting pronoun usage in-game is a waste of time. However, I believe having these discussions outside of the game can be beneficial to educate those debating the gender of Clove, and can lead to positivity outside of the game.

There is a major difference between respectfully correcting someone and stating that someone is transphobic. I feel like a respectful correction is usually followed by one of two things, either the person says they didn’t know or they double down. If the person says they didn’t know, then most people don’t care. If the person doubles down, then people care.
If they continue to do it after the correction.
Most people don't care if you accidentally refer to clove as she, the reason most people correct it is if you're doing it on purpose.
