As far as i remember, LoL made it popular at least in Chile... That was the window for people to "search" for other game's esports.
The parents thingy may be relative. At least they know esports exists and it's an active industry for brands (there are big brands commercials in open TV channels where gaming appears).

Also there's this generational thing. A lot of us over 30 (32 here) are experimenting something that maybe has no precedent: we still play, and we can afford all those things we couldn't when we were youger. Setups, peripherals, etc. So there are some friends who are parents that introduce their children to gaming.

The only scenario i could see Hiko being drop, is if 100T goes full rebuild and drop their entire team.His knowledge of the game, his comms not being igl, gives good input, makes him an important piece.
