age doesn't have much of an effect on fps players, I think there's several factors that make it seem like it does.

for example, older players are usually ones who started playing the game earlier and as a game gains more players there's a higher chance of better talent appearing so the good players tend to be young in a game with a growing player base

in valorant in particular most of them also happen to be igls so they were bad at shooting even several years ago

there's also factors like older players being slower to adapt and losing their passion

a champs team dropping a map to a tier 2 team in a serious match is still pretty crazy imo
