how are they the best if they lose the tournament?
the replay was fair in riots pov and they was following the rules they had set in place - they clearly thought the bug had a large potential in the round to swing it into FPX's favor, so they redid it
"it's as if a bully was paid $500 to punch you in your face and he does; you're most likely going to be upset at both parties. you can't just expect to only get upset at the guy who hired the bully."
this analogy is super mid imo but ill respond to it the best I can. the person paying 500 dollars doesnt have any position of power between the person getting punched and the person punching. riot absolutely has power over both teams. XSET wouldn't refuse because both getting on riots bad side by refusing to play would lessen their chances of franchising (imo anyway), and its honestly a lose lose lose situation. if the observer didn't get a perfect view of the turret doing what it did, then the replay never would've happened. riot had to choose between calling the bug not a bug (which they clearly dont agree with), saying it didn't affect the round enough (which it arguably did), ignoring what happened (bad idea), or replaying the round (which they did). its a unfortunate situation all around. FPX have a right to be angry at what happened and how riot handled the situation; they dont have a right to be rude to XSET
"the point is that xset's reputation was utter shit, so the fact that fpx jumped to conclusions, as wrong as it might have been, wasn't just blind aggression. it's probably because they knew that xset often started crap and assumed they did so again."
this would be a good argument except its been 2 days since it came out that XSET didn't call the replay and FPX players haven't said anything about it. If they truly jumped to conclusions, I'd expect a apology or at least recognition that XSET doesnt deserve the hate that they got.
Yeah, the replay was super controversial. The point is that RIOT called it, NOT XSET. Sure, XSET got a advantage in having the replay happen, but in riots POV there was a good chance the game would've gone into overtime if the turret bug didn't happen
rest of the regions got better. I am super happy to see people in finals other than EMEA and NA, makes it lots more fun to watch. hopefully we never see a team win 2 tournaments in a row cuz that's boring AF
probably the worst formatted list I have ever seen jesus christ
seeing the 238479234 zombs vs shazam thread.... zzzZZZZZ
yea its a good show im just sayin its not super amazing and the best of all time. its fantastic at what its trying to be (lighthearted comedy romance)
imo a little overrated (its not amazing or best anime of all time) but a good show. will watch if I have time
make decent study habits, do practice problems, do the homework and DO GOOD ON THE LABS.
Yes everyone realizes this don’t need another thread on this though
wrong + this was ended yesterday I thought
np agreed I like having actual discussions > mindless arguments
as a special event once a year would be pretty dope ngl. would feel bad for the players picked last though
the main point is that fpx players were hating on XSET about it on twitter and once it was shown that XSET had no involvement they haven't said anything else, no "ggs" or anything
hate towards XSET on twitter ----> people talk about it on here and hate on fpx because the hate towards XSET was unjustified
all good abt twt links. Imo dont think its being blown out of proportion but its a fair stance
can u post the tweets? want some context
minor trashtalk against Fnatic vs fpx calling XSET losers and saying they faked a bug because they were salty
imo they were mostly equal on ascent, imo more of the reason XSET lost was the rounds they threw (switching lane of attack to cat with 30 seconds left)
bcuz the next tweets were bashing on XSET for supposedly being too salty about the loss that they had to call out a "bug" to get the rounds replayed?
where has XSET trash talked on twitter
if they didn't want to delete their tweets then they should tweet something else out saying "all good" or "ggs" to XSET or something similar. instead its just radio silence
its been 24 hours since then. the "they didn't know" argument isnt valid anymore
they shouldn't be angry at XSET but they do have a right to be angry against riot
no im guessing it'll be a bit after champs
"XSET have a history of complaining" it was one time the previous day, where they quickly apologized as it was said in the heat of the moment. further more, all XSET players and coach said it was completely riots decision, and they all tweeted GG's when the game ended. I find it super unlikely that it was XSET who complained about it.
its obvious the main reason they replayed the round was because the observer had a perfect view on what happened. if the observer wasn't in the absolute perfect position, then this would've never happened. because everyone saw it, riot either had to say that the turrets behavior was intended, or say that it is a bug but didn't affect the round (debatable) or say it wasn't intended, follow their rulebook and replay the match. I do agree though we're simply on the outside looking in
not sure how someone at riot looked at chamber and said "yeah this is fair and balanced, push the update"
the replay definitely only happened because the observer got essentially a perfect view of what happened. guaranteed if observer was looking through a players pov replay never would've happened
cryo didn't give melser a fist bump because there was miscommunication between them apparently - cryo thought he had to go to his side instead of the fist bump
nvm im stupid and misinterpreted what u said but if riot called it a bug its a bug, no matter how long its been in the game
they obviously didn't see the bug because they got misled into thinking someone was heaven
why would XSET forfeit? they were just informed their tournament run was ended because of a bug in the final round that likely led to them losing
if he didn't know it wasn't XSETs decision I would've expected to see him say "no hate to XSET" or something similar but I have yet to see anything like that. I agree that its a messy situation though
??? the fact fracture was a similar case definitely validates this now. there wasn't any good reason to remove pearl from champions. the fact that it was the same for fracture shows precedent in how new maps are treated
Yes there really isn’t a reason to say it shouldn’t, same concept with fracture. All teams had equal time to practice it
Both people on xset who made the tech pause abuse allegations quickly walked them back and apologized as those comments were made in the heat of the moment. It’s truly unfortunate that happened yesterday since imo reaction would be far different if the tech pause stuff didn’t happen. Either way, they said they didn’t complain and we should take their word for it unless riot releases something different
He had zero right to be angry at XSET, who both didn’t initiate the replay and was told the final round was swayed out of their favor due to a bug. Why does XSET deserve hate?
XSET accepted the first result…. riot initiated the replay
no way ur actually watching my sister is my ex or whatever its called
exactly what I said. u right
