Great interview, kinda crazy he was basically given the authority to build his own roster, he mentions the crazy buyouts for top tier awp players, wonder how much C9 paid for yay, NRG for ardiss and TL for Sayf

posted about 2 years ago

I don't think they'll be that bad, but mediocre, yea ardiss is a downgrade from yay but imo the biggest change is s0m over marved, but if s0m can be even 75% of what marved was they can be top 5

looks pretty cool, seems like he has a temporary astra wall and a wave that knock backs as two of his abilities?

Do you really think there are that many IGl's better than dephh available? Hazed, Valyn? Not a chance, not to mention Syyyko and Zekken were two of the best available FA's and he already has great chemistry with them

EG's last hope is signing the entire LLL roster

you could easily make a team of current free agents that would beat their current roster

the two best teams of the past year gone due to franchising :skull:

marved not even on a team yet

Crashies, Derrek, Xeppa

posted about 2 years ago

Yea, that's a large part of it, I don't think people realize how many rounds and games FNS''s mid rounding/calling won optic

posted about 2 years ago

A team of Leaf-Vanity-Xeppa-Victor-Crashies is solid but has a lower ceiling compared to the old optic roster imo, I can see them consistently making LAN but championship level? Not so sure..

El diablo himself states he's already received a one million dollar offer from APAC (most likely a decline)

I agree that most of the -player +player takes are pretty bad, but with franchising right around the corner it's bound to happen, there are going to be a lot of really good free agents and no matter how much coaching, chemistry plays into it, some players are clear upgrades over others.

Purple ads blocker on firefox, works amazing, only downside, once in a while it won't load a streams video so you have to turn it off and on, otherwise I haven't watched an ad in months

posted about 2 years ago

Yea it's not that skye is bad just that other initiators like Kay-o and fade are much better

posted about 2 years ago

At least in NA any of the teams in the #3-#8 spots can beat each other on any given day, opTic and and to a lesser extent Xset are the only teams that have a clear advantage

alright listen, it was in a gold 2/3 lobby when I was gold 2 so I was playing against fair competition

dropped 493 ACS as chamber on icebox a couple acts ago

posted about 2 years ago

I would assume that they would prefer to stay together but what kind of offers do you think nats/chronicle would take to leave?

posted about 2 years ago

Chamber awp on icebox is so oppressive, have to dump so much util to clear him from yellow, and plant-delay comps are common now, 4 mollys between viper brim and kay-o

FNS and Boaster aimlabs routine ftw

posted about 2 years ago

So what are you expecting? him to consistently drop 200+ acs? When I said he's picked up his fragging I was specifically referring to him effectively trading and knowing when he needs to play aggressive and look for kills. If entry and multifrags were all that mattered we would look at players a lot differently.

posted about 2 years ago

Both have very similar map pools, heavily favouring Bind and Fracture while staying away from Breeze and to a smaller extent Icebox. Tomorrow's match is gonna come down to individual performances.

For Optic Marved has looked like the best player on the team recently and after a slow starts Yay is looking a lot more like the top 10 player he's capable of being. One thing to note is Optic is very difficult to beat when Victor is playing well, he got off to slow starts in the first Guild series and his Kayo hasn't been that good recently. When Optic is playing at their best it's either him or Yay consistently getting first bloods and both attack and defence.

PRX has their two starts playing very well and Jingg is playing like the best raze player in the world. They are both being setup extremely well, double initiator comps look very well, d4v41 is having a lot of impact on Fade, forsaken running it down on neon following a prowler with a breach flash is scary to fight against. A key player for them has been mindfreak, he's had a lot of impact when put in the position of being solo site anchor, he's a smart player and knows when he needs to take space, play passive/aggressively etc.

posted about 2 years ago

One thing I noticed a lot more vs Optic was that DRX didn't have many 2-3 man plays to get a player in a good position, something that Optic does really well. Optic's entire bind defence Yay was either with Crashies or Marved and setup to take a strong angle. Buzz was often left by himself on his DRX's defence and just holding a passive angle.

Mid rounding was also a weakness for DRX on their defence, we often saw Optic look to take space my late dogging showers, 2 walking short a etc to get information.

DRX has a lot of really strong 4-5 man executes but not many plays only involving 2-3.

ACS = impact

posted about 2 years ago

I disagree, forsaken and jingg get so many multifrags that shouldn't happen if their being traded effectively, my main concern would be Mindfreak who is having an incredible LAN run, he''s gonna have to step up even more in situations where he's the solo site anchor or making timely plays

posted about 2 years ago

not only is his calling and mid rounding still top tier but he's picked up in the fragging department so much. Getting timely trades, taking initiative to make aggressive plays etc

posted about 2 years ago

Completely agree, I've never watched much pro CS but I've been watching the semis/grand finals of recent majors and there is a complete difference, it's like comparing pro casters to amateurs

posted about 2 years ago

Theres been a number of times this LAN marved has either picked up an AWP or just had to use one and has had so much impact

posted about 2 years ago

Yea Buzz didn't have much impact on bind and I think that also comes down to DRX not setting him up as well as Optic setup Yay

posted about 2 years ago

Stax and Mako are nuts and game came down to the smallest misplays

YELL LOUDER

posted about 2 years ago

Even though he had more impact than Ayrin and Bcj, he still averaged less than 150 acs over both of Xset's series far below what he's capable of, which imo he has the potential to be their third best player

posted about 2 years ago

I think Dephh is definitely worth keeping around, he understands the game well and not many other available IGL's in NA. Ayrin and Bcj are definitely replaceable though.

posted about 2 years ago

His performance wasn't bad but definitely below expectations. I hoped he could have stepped up more considering how bad bcj and Ayrin performed.

posted about 2 years ago

Dephh Ayrin and Bcj were very disappointing this LAN but on the bright side Zekken and Cryo performed well and both deserve to be looked at/picked up come franchising
