Riot can easily help the teams here grow. Teams from Japan that have a lot of capital and can foster players and train them. Riot can step into the Japan scene and threaten the organizations to produce results or disband. There are so many Apex players. It is stupid to think that Japanese players can't outperform mechanically. They can, but they lack the motivation to do so. Shitty orgs from Japan would rather import mechanically gifted players rather than spend resources training them. And Riot isn't stopping this because Japan is a viewership powerhouse. The more menhera supporters ZETA get, the better it is for Riot. That's the kind of garbage company they are. Of course, Riot is giving priority to China league and treating it like it's sweet babygirl, and we all know why.

It doesn't even come close to them. One day I tuned into the EN stream, I heard that hag's voice, "Ohhhhhh and he shoots" so annoying. Acting so fake hyped as if she will die from a heart attack or something.

Still better than that overreacting hag. I hate her voice so much.

It's all their fans' fault. I love LOUD but their fans were disrespectful to me and karma punished them.

I wouldn't have believed DRX would lose like this because they were saving strats the first time they lost to PRX and the second time they lost was because they played trash. But I did expect them to make a comeback. Buzz said that there were no rivals in Pacific so I thought their mental was strong too.

posted about a year ago

They are getting their own league and they don't even want to be a part of Pacific.

How to save Pacific
Riot steps up and gets involved. Threaten paycheck stealing Japanese and Korean teams to start producing results or else...
??? Profit

Riot can easily save Pacific if they want to. Stupid greedy company won't do that.

Ever since I switched to EDG flair after they beat trash1 crazy things have been happening. It's like a different timeline. LOUD got eliminated? Surely, you jest. DRX got eliminated? A month ago if anyone told you this would happen, no one would believe it. What is going on

NRG are looking strong. I think they can pull off a miracle run. I trust that DRX will be able to antistrat EG this time. If not, this team is hopeless. It is hard to figure out who will win between LOUD, FNC and NRG. It feels like they are on equal terms now.

Without Smth and Benkai, their whole structure falls apart. I will bet my whole life's saving on DRX, there is no way PRX is winning this.

7/10 it's the bare minimum. If any other crowds can't do this much, then what can I say, the bar is too low Valorant fans. Japanese baseball crowd? Now that's a W crowd! 10/10 masterclass

So far what I have learned from Reddit is that Chennai is like the Singapore of India. And looking at the map, Chennai is at South. So yes, that would be the truth.

I just saw that meme "Don't ever set foot in South India" and some people in the comments are saying it's not a threat but advice. Is South India bad or something?

Fill me in on this East Coast vs West Coast debate of India.

Pacific is way more fun to watch. Just going by the fundamentals doesn't mean you win. ZETA played too fundamentally and didn't win anything, they sucked ass. So a boring game plus no win. I would rather watch EDG playstyle even if they end up losing because of that.

Chinese and Korean population in Japan is huge. But let people believe the narrative, it's better for me that way.

posted about a year ago

Fortnite is still very big. CS and LoL will forever maintain a huge presence in eSports. Overwatch just casually died thanks to Blizzard's sexual harassment rizz. Apex and Valorant are both huge in Japan and every other game is irrelevant. The eSports scene will be locked into these 5 games.

Mobile is the next big thing. Every company wants to make a mobile game. That's why Riot is pushing for Valorant mobile, even though I am skeptical of whether it will work or not.

All the answers here are terrible. I suggest you look into r/LearnJapanese they have tons of resources.

A few things to keep in mind—
Some guy above said watching anime is a bad way to learn Japanese, which is what people who barely know Japanese always love to parrot. Go watch Matt vs Japan's video.

Kids in Japan grow up watching Doraemon, Shin-chan and other anime like those. Those anime also have exaggerated voice. Does it mean that they are learning wrong Japanese? No.
The goal is not to imitate how they talk. The goal is to understand what they're saying. Familiarizing yourself with the words.

Watch tons of anime, listen to Japanese music, try to watch J-drama, and although it might be a bit difficult for you now but try to follow Japanese news channels because they often speak what most people would call proper Japanese. Change all of your settings to Japanese and try to settle in the Japanese side of the internet (mixi, niconico, news site comment sections, especially 5ch but I would not recommend it because the Japanese they speak is very weird and you will not be able to understand it no matter what you do right now).

And of course, the basics are also important. Hopefully, you have already completed Hiragana and Katakana. If so, then try learning as many radicals as you can before blindly jumping into memorizing Kanji. Understand the grammar first (like Japanese is a SOV language). The cultural nuances and pitch tones (way too advanced stuff) comes later.

Don't ignore writing. You might think that writing is unnecessary since most resources are available online and you can just learn online. I and everyone I know who speaks good English learned was through writing. Writing is one of the best ways to memorize stuff and learn languages.

Keep in mind that the goal is to not to translate Japanese to your language in your head. It's to learn Japanese as a proper language. If you don't understand a meaning of a character, look up what it means in Japanese, not in English.

Congrats on the scholarship. I did not even know they gave those anymore.

You cannot compare because missing a shot in T1 is more probable than missing a molly. And molly holds an higher importance than shots.

posted about a year ago

Experience? Yay is not a bad player by any means despite all the washed jokes. Any player with the skill + the experience (which is important) will outperform someone with only skill. Yay has played under pressure before and imagine his frustration when his teammate misses a molly in an important round. That's the difference between experience and no experience.

Sitting at 11 while the other team chips away round after round, is not called close. A 6-1 lead is not called close. 2-0 with only one of them being OT is not called close. When you're up 2 maps and only need to win one more to win, meaning that you're good for 2, is not really a close-situation. It's called domination. The last few rounds they had were the cleanup. I expect someone with critical thinking to understand that but oh well.

DSG having a 10 loss streak was also them not being at their best. If they were at their best, they could have a 10 win streak! It's always not at their best when they lose. Not sure what's the point here.
