I like this. I was thinking along the same lines as well. However, I've always been a TSM fan so Sentinels fell off worse. LOL

TSM
Consistently a top 1-3 team in early Valorant. Won 2 ignition series, placed 3rd-4th and 5th-6th in the other 2. Won multiple B-tier events, consistently beating C9, Envy, GenG to name a few and being the main challengers to Sentinels' dominance. Placed 5th-8th in the NSG First Strike qualifier and won the UMG First Strike Qualifier. Swept Renegades and Envy before placing 2nd at First Strike NA. Then, their struggles started. Failed to qualify to both of 2021 Stage 1 Challengers 1 and 2 before placing 5th-6th at Challengers 3 and failing to qualify to Masters. Added brax, but used him sparingly in open quals. Failed to qualify to Stage 2 Challengers 1, but placed 5th-6th Stage 2 Challengers 2, again failing to qualify for Challengers Finals. Drop brax, cutler, drone and tailored and pick up bang, Aleko and Chet. Don't qualify for Stage 3 Challengers 1, but win Challengers 2. Success seems to be coming back, but the bomb out in 8th in Challengers playoffs, failing to qualify for LCQ. Bench bang after the 2021 season. Chet and Hazed leave for the 2022 season. 2021 ends with utter failure. Add corey and rossy but fail to make it through either open qualifier for 2022 Stage 1 Challengers. A new culture is fostered and TSM participates in many lower tier tournaments as practice. They add juvenile as coach, part ways with Wardell and Aleko, and add seven and gMd. Place 2nd in a Knights gauntlet. With the new roster, TSM qualifies through to the Challengers main event, placing top 4 in the open qualifier. The future seems bright and TSM returns to the big stage after a year of nothing.

SEN
Run through early Val, winning or placing top 3 in every notable tournament in 2020. Only challenged by TSM, Sentinels is clearly the best team in NA. Win 2021 Stage 1 Challengers 1 and place 2nd in Challengers 2 but qualify for Stage 1 NA Masters. Sinatraa is suspended. They win Masters with TenZ subbing in. Buy out TenZ and add him to the team in place of Sinatraa. Don't qualify for Stage 2 Challengers 1 (fluke) but win Challengers 2. Run through the upper bracket and win Stage 2 Challengers Finals to qualify for Masters Reykjavik where they don't drop a map and win the first international LAN. They continue their winning ways in NA, winning both Challengers 1 and Challengers Finals for Stage 3. They place 5th-8th at Masters Berlin, losing to Envy and troubles start to brew. Add Rawkus amidst talks of their lack of discipline without a coach. Get grouped (9th-12th) at Champions. Rawkus is unable to stay for the 2022 season. Rumors about work ethic and infastructure fly. Invited to the 2022 Stage 1 Challengers main event and go 3-2 in groups and qualify for playoffs, quieting some doubt. However, their dominance of NA is gone. They lose 4 straight maps in playoffs, finishing in 8th and failing to qualify for 2022 Masters Reykjavik. zombs is benched and replaced by Kanpeki. Sentinels struggle in Stage 2 Open Qualifier 1, before losing to FaZe and LG, eliminating them from the qualifier. With the last qualifier of 2022 coming up, Sentinels is a far cry from their previous form.

WHICH WAS WORSE? LET ME KNOW!

(with 100T)

copium they're horrible. I've never seen a team lose in so many tournaments with a trial roster and still sign them

posted about 2 years ago

100T will take the top half, contested by NYFU.
V1 will sweep the lower half, uncontested.
Knights/Ghost will come out of the lower bracket, if they don't play each other in lowers. Other teams with a chance (ranked): NYFU, Sen, EG, DZ, T1

Different role, different roster, different chemistry. Not sure how you can compare the two

ma boy just brought up Poach and Andersin in the same convo as nats

MaKo/Marved

Although you're right, he did have impact and was way more experienced than dicey, keep in mind that this move shoved 100T into uncertainty and instability around the jett role for a long time. They tested nitr0 and asuna on it before having asuna play it even though it wasn't his best role. Just something to take note of.

posted about 2 years ago

Dicey is actually very very good lmao. Seems kind of crazy now that he was without a team from 100T until Faze like barely even any noticeable trials or anything. One of his knocks was that he wasn't a very good oping Jett back on 100T but now on chamber he looks very comfortable. Happy for him, he deserves success. It really sucked to see him get dropped for Ethan coming off of a First Strike championship. (goes back to 100T's curious decision making around players)

would know a lot about that coming from brazil huh?

Could Sentinels try to go get daps as a coach? Not sure what his personal situation is but he coached EG cs and played for NRG Val and played pro cs before and he's IGL/very knowledgable at the game and I'm pretty sure he's looking for coaching roles. If he wanted to go to val, maybe Sentinels should try getting him as coach. What do you guys think

They finished top 4 in Stage 1

posted about 2 years ago

yeah, I agree. I guess we won't truly know until main event! Hope it's entertaining

posted about 2 years ago

he will find a team soon enough. too talented not to

posted about 2 years ago

I love the qualifiers and having a stacked main event, but part of me just thinks it's so useless lmao. Like I know there's always a chance, and I'm personally a TSM/OpTic fan so I'm really happy for Subroza and TSM for qualifying but I just don't see Faze/TSM/LG/Knights/100T/Sen/Ghost etc even coming close to challenging for the Masters qual. In my eyes, it's still down to OpTic, C9, Guard with maybe V1, XSET, and NRG as close battles. Idk, thoughts?

posted about 2 years ago

i mean its not guaranteed but look at guard. looked decent w a new roster and a good coach during open quals. destroyed group stages and qualified to iceland. not saying its gonna happen for 100t, but the logic isnt as flawed as u think

posted about 2 years ago

really depends on bracket butttt
V1/LG
Ghost
100T
Knights

Would love to see Nearest Airport DZ or NYFU tho

they would not have had the funds to buy out asuna LMAO

I feel like TSM will reach a new level if they figure out their slow starts. Lost map 1 13-10 vs Cosmic Divide, lost 13-3 map 1 vs 100T the first time, lost map 1 13-8 vs LG, lost map 1 13-8 vs Faze and were down 3-9 map 3 before almost coming back, and lost map 1 13-7 vs 100T just now. If they can get off to a strong start I think they will do will in the main event.

i think the reason the qualed teams were better last time is bc sen and 100t got through and its a toss up for if they wouldve made it through opens. so left more room for good teams to go through opens if yk what i mean. this time, consensus top 4 teams got in so it was more of an even playing field?

posted about 2 years ago

im so surprised ghost bombed out like that for this one

posted about 2 years ago

by that logic u would have to counter the counter tho. unless only one team focuses on countering.

posted about 2 years ago

Last time:
OpTic, C9, Sen, 100T in
V1, XSET, NRG, Guard qualified 1
EG, LG, Knights, Rise qualified 2

This time:
OpTic, C9, XSET, Guard in
NRG, Faze, TSM, V1 (prob) qualified
who's going to qualify 2? and how does this time's quali stack up against last times. Feel like the teams that qualified last time are better but we never know until the main event.

posted about 2 years ago

wardell isn't the problem like you guys think he is. The problem was the over-reliance on the operator which they played to so their econ was poor. skill wise he's probably better than seven.

Am i blind or is there no longer a defuse bar to see the progress of the defuse on stream

Upper Half:
Knights 2-1 100T
100T still look a bit shaky considering they're a new roster, I think Knights experience together will pull away in the end but 100T can definitely win if they show out individually. 13-8, 6-13, 13-9.

TSM 2-1 Knights
I'm on the TSM hopium rn but honestly they really exeeded my expectations. Beating LG and almost making main event through the upper bracket was not something I expected. If everyone not named Corey can turn it on they will win. 6-13, 13-10, 13-9.

Lower Half:
LG 2-0 Sen
Sentinels look fucking horrible and I'm just a non believer in what they have going on rn. They're comps look bad and they haven't been able to be saved by hero plays like they have in the past. 13-5, 13-8.

V1 2-1 LG
V1 had a very close match vs NRG and I think they just outclass LG easily. Wardell still needs to fill into his role a little better but 13-11, 10-13, 13-7.

posted about 2 years ago

Sentinels have the least adaptive comps in the "t1" NA scene. No brim ever, no breach ever, jett on split/bind, sova on every map when teams are moving away from him. Weird

posted about 2 years ago

corey n friends vs faze for sure

posted about 2 years ago

Do you guys think they can qual tmr? Have to beat 100T or Knights. I think it's definitely possible if they play like they did against LG

posted about 2 years ago

they didnt drop a map last quali besides 0-2 to XSET also and then went 1-4 in groups... but I have more hope this time lets wait and see

posted about 2 years ago

will see during main event but top 8 for now

posted about 2 years ago

reacting instantly off something (generally something small when people say it). In this example, NRG qualified to main event and the reaction is what the guy said.

posted about 2 years ago

They look nice af Tex is playing nuts, s0m is the same demon, hazed still holding it down and eeiu still tuff. Ethan meshing so well it doesnt even look like they made a roster change. Qualifying without dropping a map even while playing ZMM Knights and V1 is impressive. Happy for hazed, he deserves success. Hope they can replicate it in groups.

posted about 2 years ago

so instead of correcting tq to t1 in the title u j posted a correction as the main body LMAO

posted about 2 years ago

I'm not a Sentinels fan at all nor do I think they're playing well but wow these casters are SO biased against Sen. Constantly shitting on them, laughing at decisions they make etc and nitpicking Sen's faults after every round. I've seen many teams down 3-11 who aren't just destroyed for their every move by the casters. Unenjoyable to watch

posted about 2 years ago

in my eyes she could do what neT does

people were hating on the seven pickup crazy but hes nuts. They just need to hold discipline more
