I know right! Can read all about the off-season recap from 2 years ago!
I'm not familiar with the CS format - how many teams does it allow for?
You are correct, in riot's plan it is one region. And yes, that's a much better way to classify what I was saying lol
I was giving four because I said it in an earlier comment
Americas
EMEA
APAC (from Malaysia & Phillipines islands and below including Aus)
Asia (Mainland nations + Japan)
Honestly 3 might be better as Riot plans
That's becoming the norm now in normal sports too. Just look at the NBA, the top players have no loyalty to the team or the city they represent because they can just force their way to the best place they think they can win. People these days are fans of the players and not the team, so they'll just follow their fav player wherever they go.
It's sad. Gone are the days of the Duncan, Parker, Ginobli Spurs... (sorry if you're not an NBA fan)
Exactly, we may not have just lost LG as an org if this was the format...
That's the current setup Riot are going with. Paying the teams what is reported to be 6 figures to enter franchising next year. It's wild.
It means Riot keeps majority control where the system goes because they are paying for it, instead of the teams having influence when they pay to enter.
That's always the problem with franchising in general though and is kinda unavoidable unless there is a year limit on the entry contract allowing orgs/teams to exit.
The obvious reason as to why this isn't possible is because Riot have already said they would pay teams to enter and they wouldn't want to pay 120 teams (10 teams per tier, 30 teams per region, 4 regions)
The main issues that seem to be brought up about franchising in 2023 are:
Model each region in the English Premier League format with 3 tiers that promote and relegate between them?
Is this too much of an obvious answer..
Just a few reasons you could take an extended break from a job.
Maybe get one yourself before commenting on the subject next time.
A strategy that doesn't involve sinatraa. Props
hell of a choke from Navi with a 11-6 lead. went to bed thinking this was done.
Acend 2-0
cNed Chamber goes bananas
edit - was surprised to still see the Jett on split!
hype train!!
Not really. Pretty standard behavior.
Only have to look at all the clips of dudes going off at women in games.
Sad that this still happens. IMO these types of people should be perma banned from all games the dev makes.
Caught being a misogynistic pos in Val? Good luck playing LoL. Overwatch? Hope you don't intend on playing WoW or CoD.
OCE:
Bonkers (although I don't think people realize their best players from Stage 1 joined ORDER)
ORDER (attempted to build an OCE superteam)
Catgirls (twitch chat was all over them last night against Funcrew (plixx from Soniqs, Autumn from ORDER))
That's doubtful. He and dicey would have to continue these kind of numbers and I just don't see that happening.
No Babybay? Dude literally went +44 the other day.
Squid Game (S2 being made)
HIMYM
Community (up until Donald Glover left to pursue music)
Breaking Bad
Drive to Survive
Dark
Narcos
House of Cards (minus the last season. Was a throw away with the controversy around Spacey)
Spartacus
GoT
DBZ
Prison Break (really just S1)
Never given it a chance because it just looks a little to "silly", but I'm a big fan of hers, might have to give it a go finally.
I'm a bit biased as a comic reader who was similar to the GoT book readers, just waiting for certain things to happen and the general public to react.
But I agree, after the Governor & the prison it was stuck in no man's land for a while until the Saviors. And then after that until the Whisperers (the reveal of the whisperers was awesome, with Jesus). Show was hampered when Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Andrew Lincoln (Rick) left and when the showrunners decided what the did with Carl :(
most recent news a 2020 recap!!
Yeah good one!
Hype forums for the new season with 2-4 comments... i'm rolling bro
i did not even know that site existed, and it's soo dead lmao
sums up that game now
Being an early competitive OW fan, I'd love to see Rogue and even though they had a team in 2020/early 2021: Lunatic Hai.
Probably doesn't count as an org but RunAway also.
Any CSGO orgs that you think might enter in?
Absolute 5head move from OG.
Having the org in the "major" league now will bring in more and better sponsors, increasing profits to help improve other areas aka: their own team in the "minor" league
o-O we see you OG, props
I'm not talking out my ass, just sharing information that was shared by people who work in the scene. If shahz has already said it's not true then maybe it's not.
And that good coach is Rawkus? omegalul
We know, coz they don't bootcamp.
He'll have months of it if this weekend doesn't go well
Do you know what expectations are?
Being the top team from NA at that point there were expectations that they'd make a deep run.
And they got grouped. Regardless of who they played (who honestly would have expected KRU to make the run they did? And how they performed so far this year does lean towards that Masters run being an outlier), they did not meet expectations = a bad performance.
Don't understand how anyone can defend that - a close loss is still a loss in matches you were expected win.
Question:
If Optic get grouped in NA qualifiers this stage are you also gunna say that they didn't perform that badly after being the best team in the world in Stage 1?
Because that's the same thing. Expectations.
At the end of the day. It seems like everyone and their dogs know Sentinels need a proper coach, except Sentinels (the org).
If you haven't checked out the discussion on this very topic by the plat chat boys (including Wyatt who was interviewed for the 100 Thieves job before Mike & Sean got it) you definitely should. Sen had the opportunity to sign multiple coaches that the players suggested, but the org wouldn't pay the buyout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piq_iwbjv-A from 1:19:17
Top seeded NA team who won 50% of the internationals at that point, got grouped. And you reckon they "weren't that bad"?
One thing to remember about EU is at this point the results were somewhat random because they were playing BO1s in Stage 1 (the non international) and then single elim in stage 2 while the rest were playing double. You can go back and look at the commentary from the analysts in the scene where they all agreed Liquid & Fnatic were not the best two teams in EU.
That being said, Acend not making Iceland was probably for the best because that brought about the koldamenta for zeek change.
But even this doesn't change the fact that Sentinels were dominant that tournament. Seems that people (trembolona) have forgotten the insane numbers they were putting up while rolling everyone.
By trembolonas logic, Michael Jordan's titles and stats don't count coz the NBA wasn't as good 20 years ago XD
lmao "it worked so well for us the first time, lets run it back!"
RIP Sentinels
He's been doin a few content videos with the OTV people and tarik, and before that som.
They were entertaining, but would not be helping in the slightest.
Nah you good my man, my Portuguese is shaky at best and google translate didn't help much lol
Im assuming it was a Keyd/Acend joke?
agree. I'm partial to dizzy but he's only just returned so who knows what sorta form he'll be in.
You're not ciro
no love for the remaining soniqs guys?
Yo, respect for the Leviatan support!
Everyone riding Bonkers - You do realize it's not the same team as last stage right..?
